Lo siento por los fanaticos de Cotto, pero Canelo esta muy fuerte y tiene muy buen arsenal. Cotto creo que le va a pasar lo mismo lo que le paso al Perro Angulo, cuando sintio la pegada de canelo sabia que ya tenia todo perdido. Ya veo a Cotto diciendo que la pegada de Canelo le molesta.

people keep talking about canelo switching trainers but they don't realize that he went undefeated for 43 fights he was 43-0 until his first and only loss to mayweather and now he has 50 fights to his resume and his only loss is still just to floyd mayweather so I don't see how people say his trainers suck?!

Canelo seems like he is self trained. It is like his trainers don't know much based off what they tell him. Canelo needs a trainer like Roach or Garcia. Canelo is loyal cause those guys actually care about him and not money.

+tinktwiceman canelo is a technitian. they didn't teach himself, they know what the hell they are doing. They let him work and give him imput here and there but working the bag doesn't require someone breathing down your back.

Yeah he pretty much creates his own training workouts and he looks like he is still in the experimenting stage of a boxer! He should get a really good trainer if he wants to actually hit his prime! He will never hit his prime if he keeps this up!

Regarding the intensity of the workout, I haven't seen too many of his workout videos, but it looks like he is taking it light, perhaps it's a light day or are all his workouts at this intensity? I believe he's been training even before the Cotto fight was signed, hope he doesn't over train and come in burned out. Maybe instead of hitting the heavy bag and walking around it, work on volume, I mean no need to focus on power, it's natural to him, but hey he's a successful fighter. Also, I respect him staying with Eddie and Chepo Reynoso, but I feel they brought him as far as they could take him. I mean listen to them, they are just complimenting him saying things like good upper cut and good job, they aren't giving him any tactical advice that I heard. He needs someone that can push him in the gym and offer him tactical advice. He would benefit from offensive minded trainers like Freddie Roach or Robert Garcia.

It should be a good fight. Assuming both are in excellent shape, I'd give the edge to Canelo. Cotto needs to stay on the outside and box, like he did against Margarito. However, I see a chess match turning into an fire fight as the younger man lands body shots and Cotto starts to slow down. If Cotto can stay on his toes for 12 rounds he has a chance. But I think he'll start to slow down in the middle rounds and lose by a clear UD or late stoppage. We'll find out what happens soon enough.

maybe footwork comes naturally? idk. some people seem to have it in them, others are flat footed, heavy in muscle mass, and mostly seem to use their fast-twitch muscles in their movements (quick bursts of power, but less endurance and stamina). canelo seems to fall in the latter, but I don't know if it can be undone. he is however, in my opinion, one if the top 5 p4p today, and the 2nd best in his division after Golovkin, even tho I might take some heat for that last comparison.

If you’re talking about the jump rope then it helps you stay light on your feet. Helps you stay on your toes and helps with cardio, most 12 round fights last about 46-48 min so like half an hour of jump rope is perfect

A lot of people are saying what I've been feeling about his trainers. Canelo has so much potential and talent, and his team, that he refuses to leave, are not utilizing it. I wish he would have went to John David Jackson if not the Mayweathers after his first loss.

Holy shit read what I wrote in a response to a commenter above. I said the same thing! He does little subtle things in there that show little flashes of talent that many Mexican fighters don't have. John David Jackson would be great for him. Kovalev hits hard but he's also talented and jdj has groomed him into a sicker, thinking all around better fighter.

I've been saying that forever and people call me a dumb ass... Canelo doesn't have the Mexican come forward bulldozer style. He has some good qualities like a fast combination punching and a little slickness that most other Mexican boxers don't have. I think someone that can get him to increase his stamina and enhance his other skills would be great. John David Jackson would be great. Canelo can become a mini kovalev. Hit hard but with subtle skills that set him apart

The first four rounds will be dangerous for Cotto, as long as he works behind his jab and uses his superior footwork he should be able to outbox and lands some flush shots against Canelo, he won't knock the kid out but he'll hurt him like no one else has. Canelo is younger and very strong, the fight being at 155lbs is also a benefit to him however his gas tank is not that great, he lacks experience and his team just cannot match brains with Cotto and Roach. Canelo is no doubt hungry and a Cotto victory is by no means going to come easily. Cotto by majority decision.

+victor torres I gave Canelo the edge by UD or late stoppage. But Miguel Cotto can fight effectively off his back foot and could win the fight if he's able to stick and move for 12 rounds. Anything can happen in boxing; I picked Canelo, but we'll just have to wait and see.

canelo is going to win for 4 reasons: 1. His underrated boxing ability: this young gun was smart even before the mayweather fight, he had time to mature and he sure as hell has. He definitely wont play around with cotto if he is going to win. 2. His explosiveness, canelo isnt trying to be lazy... his training camp is making sure his punches and movement retain explosivity...that single trait could end the the night for cotto right there and then. 3. POWER, cotto and canelo have a similar level of power punching but its how they distribute that power that counts ... canelo loves to sit down on his shots and counter punch and do so very effectively. 4 th reason... cotto is on his last legs as a fighter

To be successful against Cotto you gotta have good upper body movement. I don't see how Canelo is gonna beat him standing flat in the middle of the ring.

with a good corner, canelo would be deadly. He is fast, young, and very strong. His inside body combinations are filthy also. If a new coach can train him to cut off the ring and a bit more of defense canelo could become the best P4P
