The eighth halftime performance of the 2014 season by the FTAB, marched with 363 members, includes St Julian March, Our Galant Infantry March, and their own rendition and premier performance of Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA. The video ends with a Block T made up of the entire Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
Drill starts - 0:50
U.S.A. letters formed - 6:30
Block T formed - 8:38 - 9:45
Think this halftime drill video was good? For my video of the best Fightin' Texas Aggie Band halftime ever, go to • The Best Texas Aggie B... .

I watch the local hs marching band practice almost everyday while waiting to pick my son up from baseball practice. They are out there whether it's 100 degrees and sunny or cold and rainy, marching and pacing for hours. Knowing the hours and hours of hard work the kids put into not only their routine, but practicing their instruments, it makes the half time show that much more enjoyable.

@@SarV1 Currently in HS marching band. Practice is an absolute nightmare and you always go home feeling like death, especially on days where you stay out until 5:30-6:00 in hundred degree weather. It's all worth it when you get that one perfect run during a football game though.

Yeah, even though most of the "cadets" (60% to 65%) will never serve one day in the real Military people think that A&M has a "Military" band. There is NO obligation for these Cadets to become full-time military after graduation. Most of these "cadets" will play Army for 4 years and then move on to civilian life. It is almost like stolen valor.

Robert McCoin with all due respect, would I be correct in assuming you do not have personal exposure to the Aggie Corps of Cadets and the young men and women in it? If not, I would invite you to visit College Station and find out more how this group is unique among ROTCs. I’m sure Commandant General Ramirez and his staff would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you how they ensure there is not much valor or anything else being stolen there.

@@robertmccoin1166 The discipline required and sacrifice that these young people make in order to be a part of this great band is commendable. Not only do they have to do two years ROTC, they put in sometimes 40 or more hours a week practicing. And this is in addition to their required studies and extra-curricular involvement. And then they perform quite often so that people like me can enjoy listening to this great band and watching their complex formations and near-flawless synchronicity. So if they chose a profession that does not require them to be willing to sacrifice their life (such as the military, police force, etc.) - so that someone like you can shut-up about it already - then so be it. Just like YOU decided what you wanted to do with your life, they should also be allowed the same opportunity without being criticized, minimized, and demeaned.

Then, on a Thanksgiving trip during my own college years, I ended up getting invited and watching a football game at Clemson University. Wow... That's when I started understanding it. WOW! What an AMAZING band! The Aggie band drilled the hell out of that field! I truly do not understand why the NCAA officials do not rank the Aggie band. This band should be in the top 5 of collegiate marching bands for sure. They amaze me with their military precision style drills. I'm an alum, and marched with the Southern University "Human JukeBox" marching band, so I know the hard work and dedication that goes into a performance. Although our style of precision drills differ from the Aggie band style, they both require a lot of strict self discipline, hard work, and dedication. As of 2014, Southern is currently ranked as having the 2nd best collegiate marching band in the country, only topped by Ohio State, who ranks #1. The Texas A&M Aggie band should be ranked as well. I'm a big fan, of the Texas A&M Aggie band, and will remain a fan forever! I never use just the term "Aggie" band anywhere else, because North Carolina A&T marching band are the "Aggies" as well. They're HBCU like Southern, so there are two collegiate marching "Aggie" bands in the USA. Keep up the good work fighting Aggies! #GoAggieBand#

They attempted to run these marching formations on a simulation program, and the computer said the moves weren't possible because they required two cadets to be standing in the exact same spot. This is done in reality by cadets having the toes of their footwear being underneath the raised heel of the cadet in front of them.
@bobalooloo02
@bobalooloo02 6 жыл бұрын
oh is that how is that how they do it? That's a pretty ginormous marching step/stride. And where does their instrument go? Through the head of the cadet in front of them?

i was in marching band my freshman year of high school. we made it to our state finals and actually saw a trumpeter get trampled. had to take him away in an ambulance. not sure the extend of his injuries but he got stepped on by a fair few people. had to be a 120+ person band easily. took maybe 30-45 seconds for everyone to realize he had gone down. so it does happen from time to time and it isn't pretty.

I'm used to His majesty king's guard of Norway marching band and mass band of here majesty the queen of England, and similar here in Europa. And as an Norwegian with our awesome HMKG (His Majesty the king's guard of Norway) band and drill show, with there precision marsj... or more like what they call it: "power marsj"... (those boy's are only in for 1 year service) This Fightin' Texas Aggie Band is perhaps one of the best I have seen so far, specially as an large band performance.

Those are not tubas. They are sousaphones. The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band does not use tubas because the instrument name begins with "tu" - as in Texas University - the Aggie (and best) way to mention the school in Austin. Gig 'em Aggies! Saw the varsity's horns off! ...indeed, awesome!!!
