This game is seriously insane. The amount of attention to detail and care that was clearly put into this blows my mind. It's basically everything I have ever wanted. To think at one point I was on the fence about getting it...how naive I was.

I love Nioh 1. I was obsessed with it. I haven't been that crazy about a game in years. Now the second one, although amazing, is not as good as the first game unfortunately. Most of the stages are a bit lackluster, and bland often copying several stages from the first game. There are some recycled tracks and recycled stages as well from the first game which is surprising and dissapointing. Controls have also changed. It is a bit cumbersome to switch between your shortcut "crosses". It used to be R2 in Nioh 1. Now I have to press L1 and toggle left and Right. Also, toggling between weapons is also made more cumbersome. Although the character customization is on point, I still prefer the main character to say something and not be silent the entire time. Last but not least, Yokai shift is garbage. Please bring back living weapon or buff Yokai shift damage.

Actually in my opinion - the first playthrough is the hardest, afterwards you start the builds and get way stronger - in first playthrough you learn the mechanics - you kill almost each enemy on the way to ease the path forward, and after that on NG+ there are a lot of missions where you just skip all trash and run to the final boss.

Leonidas Escanor I finally got to lvl 281 and all i do is visit people in the viper boss room and r*pe that snake for lower lvl ppl, because that snake made me stop playing the game for like a whole day. Fck Yatsu no kami, the boss soul core is the only thing that made that mission worth it

Man, the customization freedom of this game is one of my favorite thing. They really wanted you to constantly switch it up and be able to do so easily. Only just started getting deep in the game. Not sure how sales were but I hope this series keeps going cause it's really fucking awesome!

There is a lot of mechanics going on in this game that people can miss. I was 3/4 through my first (pre-NG+) playthrough before I learned those "Active Skill" perks have to manually be applied to a specific skill. Before I realized that, I was always confused what those perks that said "certain active skills" meant.

3 years ago I watched your video and put the game down after absolutely struggling to get to even Chapter 4. Saying that the first playthrough was basically a tutorial demoralized me and I just couldn't keep going. Now, after beating Demon Souls, Sekiro and Elden Ring, I decided to give the game another try. I didn't realize how much I learned from my mistakes during my first playthrough until I started completely breezing through the levels, often barely even dying. Now I am looking forward to NG+ and all the possiiblities it opens. I stumbled on your video again by chance, and it unlocked the memory which prompted me to write this comment. I also want to say thank you for your content and I'm glad to be back!

This title is simply the best ever. As a Nioh 1 veteran, I was obsessed about utilizing the same crafting mechanics until I picked up a really good Axe and said screw it. That Axe for me through NG+ as well.

This can't be told often enough to newer players. This is like a heavy burden having been lifted now. I'm already OCDing and saving weapons on the second area and wasting too much time micromanaging. Also, the Diablo analogy is superb. Really gives me perspective to not care about anything gear related aside from the highest stat ones until new+. Thanks for the video!

Finished my first playthrough an hour ago and have now been watching your video to get informed for NG+. Very helpful as well as your walkthrough was during the end-game missions. There is also a way to get Book of Reincarnation from a Sudama. If he asks for something that's not good for you, give him sake and he might drop a Book of Reincarnation alongside other stuff.

You can roll attack bonus (blank) at any point after dawn. At least that’s when I’ve been reliably rolling it. Rolled obsidian set on my first play through and the sword eventually rolled b+ courage, that shit carried me so far.

Thought it might be helpful to point out when you coop main story missions at least via Random Encounters fabled umbra is actually a reasonably common random drop off seemingly everything. Helping a friend through the main story I've gotten quite a lot just off random stuff.

Love the vids man, was wondering about some of the points u covered in this and it helped alot. but one thing i have been curious about is the make an offering for getting a little extra amirita early on for some more levels. Or would it just be better to set yourself up for NG+ and break down all the gear u dont want so you can forge more later on.

I almost never use the offering feature. Only time I'll use it is if I hit max gear capacity on a mission and need to dump off stuff. It's a good way to get some extra elixirs.

@@FightinCowboy that was my thoughts but since u can get a nice amount of elixirs just from playing thru levels and what not, i like having my elixirs max kinda an odc thing on my part. enjoying this game played nioh 1 but only thru the 1st playthrough wasnt that into the "diablo" farming experience used the hell out of tonfa in N1 and wanted to try out the switchglaive this game but it just wasnt sitting right with me so i moved back to my comfort of tonfas. want to try to get into this one more since im not really playing anything else right now, just gotta juggle this and work atm.

I'll typically use the offering function at the beginning of new playthroughs. There are 4 or 5 Prestige title rewards you can get from giving offerings. I'll knock these out immediately because I get the most out of the low amirita and elixir rewards at the lowest levels.

Good video man. I’d argue that you don’t have to do anything with the blacksmith during the NG cycle, except dissemble and sell gear and buy arrows/rounds. You could start to temper some things and get used to that system, or forge new armor every 30-40 levels. But that will lead you down a rabbit hole and if you’re like me spend hours trying to roll the best gear so now you have have level 43 arm armor still on your lvl 90 character because of the OP offensive stats you got (untouched ninjitsu, Kunai damage and ninjitsu damage) which will be obsolete soon enough. So just grab gear along the way (that’s all you really need...farm revenants with your particular weapon build), early game lvl up corrupted weapons with soul cores and get to ng+ asap. You will save so much time. I’ve lost hours of my life fucking around in blacksmith screens. Don’t be like me! I can’t wait for NG+. Ninjitsu Kusa Build I have been making is so OP. I really want to see how the heavy weapon/armor builds are, but that’s for later. Biggest takeaway I got from this is that they don’t give you Attack Bonus on stats (skill, dex, heart, etc) until divine gear/NG+. At least that’s what I think you said. I’ve been waiting for that because I remember getting a A rank attack bonus heart sword mid game in Nioh 1. This makes me feel better. Thought I had the worst drop luck possible. I just entered the 5th region. Taking it real slow. Partly because I’m a squishy fucking ninja and get killed in 2 shots by skeleton warriors. Big oof.

You can find em on early gear but they're incredibly rare. Even with divine I might temper something 10 or 20 times before CTA Skill shows up

I'm having so much MORE fun with this than I did with the first Nioh. I really enjoyed the original game, but bringing all that experience into this one is making the journey a bit smoother and more fun. I'm focusing on a build (which is something I NEVER do in games, because I want all da skillz) and I'm loving the chance to master the burst counter system. Can't wait to get deep into the game so I can really make my magic user work

I know when you disassemble gear you can also convert the materials from white all the way to purple and i was trying to remember if you could then go one step further to green in NG+? I'm on dream after like 100 hours so i will probably just keep hoarding materials but was wondering if it's worth making some random sets just for some extra random stats if i won't really have a use for purple materials in NG+.

as the DLC comes out, more difficulties will be there; so if its dream of the warrior, then dream of the strong, we can assume it will be demon, wise then nioh. you can just care about the gear at dream of the nioh then.

i'm at the end of the game, without using blacksmith and many other things i've now learned from your awesome vids. i'm level 108, i'm wondering if after I beat it, shoudl I start a new one or just go new game +, and then start doing the things you've showed in video, like blacksmith, and all the other armor/gear improvements i've never done? or just better to start doing them from new game + that is what i'im thinking probably, but wondering anyone's advice.

doesn't matter, last night turned on ps4 pro and "a serious error has occurred loading the ps4", I didn't have my game data backed up and had to install it fresh. Sooooooo back to square one (maybe I wanted this? maybe I didn't?) really I didn't though, but oh well, now at level 11, and starting fresh as I had no choice. Will make the most of it though and actually play the way it should be

Soul matching seems to be a lot less costly (for now) than nioh 1. It only took about a mil gold to do all the necessary soul matching to get my taro tachi to +5 whereas nioh I remember it costing upwards of 70 million to go one level lol. Ultimately the reason i stopped playing when way of the wise came out

what about smithing texts & hidden arts from bosses? do they have better chance on NG+? I'm trying to find the SwitchGlaive hidden art for about 2 days now, but i did got the dual sword one tho

Looks good. I’ve played all souls like games, including first Nioh, Never finished any of them: it came to point where I hit a wall and was never able to advance. I’m afraid of throwing $80 away on Nioh 2 despite knowing I’d love it at its core but hate it because I suck at hard games:

Start slow. Don’t be discouraged just because that one yokai took a lot of your time. It’ll be easier the more you play it.

region 4 the mission for killing mezuki and gozuki. get 10k per run

You can try to temper proficiency bonus on accessories.

That’s what I ended up doing. Added proficiency bonus to my gear and tried the region 4 mission.

Question. Typically in these type games I will make different characters to try different weapons often before I even finish the game. Does it make more sense in Nioh 2 to just unlock everything on 1 character slot and just respec when I want to try something new?

The amount of skill points you gain depends on your damage. More damage = faster skill points. So later in the game, as enemies has more health and your weapons deals more damage, you gain the skillpoints faster. And respeccing is basically free, both for skill trees and for your stats. So its not worth making additional characters, because there is no additional classes you have to select on starting the game.
