Michael Watson is an insperation defying all odds. I read his book, he never lost faith and always knew he would come out on the other side. What a man

You are right. Micheal Nunn, and also James Toney avoided these guys, because they both knew they would be tough fights.

0:31 At what stage of the fight was this photo taken because it wasn't when Watson was floored in the 11th round? Did Watson slip earlier in the fight?

benn and eubanks goes down with corrales castillo hearns hagler ali frazier, that magic goin on in the ring when two guys are really giving it their all with big bombs and exchanges of thunder and lighting, when sparks fly, when the shit hits the fan, when fans get up off their seat and jump and yell, thems the types of fights that make boxing fantastic, thrilling and pure animal force in mental agony and defeat to counter the fascianation of triumph and endurance with gratification at the end

Iv been a fan of boxing for nearly 40 years and I have to admit, it makes me feel ashamed sometimes how our home grown fighters are protected and then when and if they ever get a shot on the world stage, look totally out of their depth. Mcguigan ducked nelson for years, Joes been shielded and matched against ordinary fighters and 1 over the hill legend. Same with hatton fighting has beens until FMjr and now the same with Khan. At least Benn wanted to fight the best and prove himself beyond doubt

It's interesting that Calzaghe and Watson took it up to deal with bullies, and Muhammed Ali because his bike was stolen and Foreman was partially due to someone picking on him. And Nigel Benn I heard say that fear motivates him.

rings true, ive always liked Eubank above Benn. watson is different though, a stellar figure, a man for the history books even if he hadnt been hurt.

could someone plz update me on watson's situation, i mean i really know very little besides he had a tragic ending of some kind similar to the benn v mcClellan story with which i'm more familiar....i am learning more of the exciting former UK middlewts post Minter and am curious to know about Watson, tho i think by the end of this documentary i will know alot more...but thanks for any clarification...cheers

Michael had the will power, but not the experience. THat refferee was the only one to blame for what happened. Eubanks even saw him walking badly.

No one was to blame. It was an accident.

My point is a valid one I believe in that to be the best, boxers should fight the best. Like in the heavyweight division when it had credibility. all the best fighters wanted a go at each other, now theres tat many different weights that promoters target the weakes world title and think, ah we can win that, Wasnt Johny Nelson a cruiserweight title holder at one time? I mean come on? Fair play to his handlers but if that doesnt make a mockery then what does?

Not sure if you a Calzaghe or a Eubank fan here but Hatton fought over the hill boxers until Mayweather who is in my top 10 of all time by the way and Hatton was outclassed. As for Eubank being the best Benn fought? well if your ranking Eubank above the Gman, then we will strongly have to disagree. Re Hopkins, hes been a legend but hes most certainly over the hill at 43 and even then I thought he by far landed the better shots and should have snook the decision

He was just afraid to lose his perfect record. I can't admire that. He was that zealous about staying undefeated that he put a man in coma. Nothing to admire there.

Watson was very lucky despite everything. He could have just as easily wound up like Benny Paret.

@stokie1000 the coma was induced on purpose by the neuro surgen, because Watson had swelling on the brain, & i presume being in a coma relaxes the body even more, so he can operate. I think the doctor was Peter Hammil.

your a clown, boxing is a sport for men, eubank is a gent, and this unfortunate ACCIDENT is just that. watson praises eubank because they are both men who realise what can happen in the ring! and to say the coma was induced on purpose is rediculas. after this fight eubank was never the same, there was talk of him retiring straight after it aswell
