The face on the mcfarlane one is horrible but the hood is pretty good! But NECA takes the cake 🎂 NECA wins!

This is why I was so disappointed when Mcfarlane took over. I'm so sorry, but it looks like a mockery of NECA's version, not to mention a 5+ year difference between the two toys. It's like Mcfarlane shrunk down the NECA version, left it out in the sun on a hot day, and ran it over. They could at least TRIED to have made the toys to NECA's standards, knowing they had to continue the AC line. I personally have a NECA Altair and I LOVE IT. The detail is amazing and posing him isn't too bad. A few holsters started to break but nothing superglue couldn't patch up. Perfect figure. NECA needs to come back.

And 10 years later NECA has the assassins creed license again and hopefully they'll release an updated altair figure, they recently released updated ezio figures and I'm definitely gonna get them

I have the model of NECA and was thinking of buying the model of MCFARLANE but now I am very satisfied with what I have :)

Congrats, amazing review! On the bootleg issue, I stupidly passed on NECA's figure when it was in stores. Now I can only find it on eBay from Chinese sellers. I've read that some factories in Hong Kong kept some molds NECA used and still produce figures without NECA's complete approval. Some of those figs do look a bit off on the paint application, specially on the face, but if you compare with older figs, I think yours is legit. Can't make out my mind now that McFarlane's is out, though. Cheers!

It's funny to me how the two companies have changed. When you compare NECA's older figures to their new ones (especially the Alien Queen) you can see how much better they have gotten, especially with their paint apps. In comparison, I could swear that Mcfarlane keeps getting worse and worse. I mean, when I was a kid if you could get a Mcfarlane version of a figure, you wanted that above all others: the movie line (especially the Alien and Predator figures) and the Spawn figures used to be incredible. Now adays I'm always dissapointed when Mcfarlane gets the license for a figure series. I mean, I saw the Arno Dorian figure the other day and it was so appalling it made me cancel my preorder for the Shay Cormac one. I mean, his hidden blade was so fat and rounded it looked like a truncheon or something and his facial hair was so badly painted it went all over his face, like he had tried to put on make up without a mirror. I think they started going down hill with the Halo Reach figure line. That line was so poor, the paint so sloppy and the sculpts so inconsistent that I completely stopped following what Mcfarlane was doing. It's a shame because I look at my old Mcfarlane toys (which weren't even more expensive at the time) and they are just so much better than the modern ones. I guess with the increase in competition from Japanese lines like play arts and figma they went down the more budget route but I really wish they hadn't.

If Neca isn't the #1 toy company yet, they soon will be, they are doing a great job . I love McFarlane, I still think they do a great job but Neca seems to be getting better and better.

I haven't bought a Macfarlane figure in like 10 years but I picked one of these Assasins Creed figures and was impressed by the detail and articulation. Considering Macfarlane is known for not having articulation at all.

I own both and I prefer NECA.

Not surprising to me about McFarlane figures, their downfall started with Halo 4 and 5....It's like they didn't give a damn from there on.

My Altair Figure came all F*ckt up,the Knifes holster got out in the box,the straps on the Back-Sword holster come out,and wen i taked of the hand to change,it broked,the ball joint broked,fucking hate this first NECA figures. Im sorry for those who got the NECA Altair and it looks great on your hands,but i have a Bad Experience with it,so i think MCFarlane Altair is better. By the way,NECA should get The Walking Dead License to make their figures,MCfarlane took their AC license,it will be fair.
