An excellent amp! I'm using it with the M50x's and Viper4android on my nexus 5, a wonderful combination. Unleashes the awesome bass of these cans. great review :)

+overclockedHD Oh it certainly will, I hear details with it than I would without it. Even with Viper4android, you can boost the output with that eq and if you're into custom kernels, elementalx lets you boost the gain of the internal dac to eek out a lil more power out of your phone. Bass, you're gonna need the amp for sure, I love bass and just running my m50x's off of my phone's dac, isnt enough. You can attach the amp to your phone using 3M Dual Lock, got the tip from InnerFidelity.

Got this for my Shure SE535's, got it mostly for the bass boost and the slight increase in audio quality. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive.

nice review. plz reconfirm will it increase the bass response on audio technica m50x's. i am playing them directly to my iphone 6 and i can feel that bass in less in most of the normal bass tracks except bass boosted tracks which can b found on youtube.

i had just ordered it. But why would I need it? Well, im a bass student and there are times when i just dont want to use my combo amp to wake up anyone! So i use the vox bass... so freakin INCONVENIENT!! Its a little unit that u plug into the instrument in order to play quietly using headphones!! Whoever came up with this seems like he hated to put in a corded plug!! No! the plug is right on the unit along with the controls... expecting you to be able to reach down and be able to know what ur doing!! yeah! brilliant!! So i need i seprate unit where i can plug in my bass (using mini to instrument plug) i would be able to set it apart from my instrument and not wonder if its going to fall off!!

Nope, this is an amplifier. You only need to use the supplied aux cable.

I'm looking for something that would get rid of the HISS from my laptop when listening to music via my in-ear headphones, much like the experience from listening to music on my iPod Touch 4G while not charging. How would I be able to fix this? I would also like to fix this problem for several smartphones even though I rarely listen to music on cellphones.

+PeacefulGary not sure if someone if someone answeared this for you but here you go. you either can upgrade your soundcard (not recommended I.m.o) or you can buy an external DAC for your laptop. an amp wont do anything but amplify the hiss. you can buy amp/dac combos. and I would say that would be your best bet :)

Dude, i have an ASUS XONAR DG audio card. It has an amp and a DAC, but i saw some vids and the E11K seems to be too much powerful than my Xonar DG. Should I change for a Fiio E11K (it is just an AMP) or go for other with AMP & DAC? I just want for gaming. My headphone is a Superlux HD668B Dynamic Semi-Open.

Hey, Paulreviews. Gr8 Review. I myself have the Sennheiser HD439 and im planning to buy this amp with it. my question is does this amp give me more the vibrating bass Low bass? or is it more like a full sounding bass?. Now im a general user not an audiophile, will i really hear big differences?. I listen to hip-hop and all kinds of edm most of the time does this amp suite genres really good?

Hi James, when it comes to the bass boost, it all depends what type of headphones you have (open back or close back) and the type of song you have. The bass boost will not make your headphones vibrate, maybe slightly, and or will not magically add bass if the song your listening to does not have bass in the first place. However, the bass boost makes the sound more powerful and adds more impact. It generally makes the sound more enjoyable to listen to, I hope that I cleared things up, at the end of the day I keep the bass boost on, I listen to trap and hip hop, the bass boost really satisfies me!

James Lafuente I also let a couple of non audiophile people test this amp, everybody noticed a difference, the sound sounds more clear and vibrant. Hope you enjoy your amp, when you get it make sure to tell me what you think of it.

Hi. Thanks for the review. It helps. I own an iPhone 6s Plus. I use it with the regular, cemplementary (out of the box) Apple Earpods. Though, they offer superb quality, the whole setup is weak (for my taste) when it comes to sound volume. As we know, the Apple EarPods offer almost zero noise isolation, since they practically have no sealing capacity. They rest in the outer ear; they are not "in-ear" (unfortunately). All in all they are perfect for absolutely quiet environments, but they are really impossible to rely on when commuting. I like listening to saved podcasts and listening while being in a bus, is a bummer. So, long story short, if I use such an amplifier, shall I distinguish considerable volume increase with the Apple EarPods? I mean, have you tried them? Or have you come across a similar review where the reviewer actually tests them with an Apple setup? Many thanks in advance, regardless. Cheers! George.

In terms of sound quality, they do. They lack volume and isolation capacity, hence they experience is poor. But otherwise, yes, the quality of sound (lab wise) is top notch.

Hi, this amp can only be used with the 3.5mm jack ins and outs. The micro USB input is only for charging.

Can anyone comment on how well shielded this amp is? I have the old Fiio E11 and I mounted it to my android case to use it on the go, and any data use would cause really irritating interference noise. Hoping this updated model will be better.

Paul! I used to watch your pieproductions1999 and I used to love Lego also! I too have moved on. I too have found a new hobby its un-boxing. I only have one video and it has done quite well and I have a product for review that I purchased on the way! I was wondering if you have any tips to getting my hands on some products for free that I can review!

Nick J. Hey man, sorry for being late with the reply. I'm not entirely sure if it would improve the sound quality. The thing is that amps will not make your audio mind-blowingly awesome. It will generally improve on the clarity and it will clean up and boost the audio. Honestly, If I were you, I would buy it, test it, and return it if you are unhappy (if you can do that of course). +Suzuki450cj It should be good. Just remember, you first impression will be a little false. When I originally bought me x2's I wasn't actually blown away. After a couple of weeks of using I started to appreciate the quality.
