Thanks for your feedback. More analytical with a touch of warmth, but not a lot. Gain hasn't impacted the signature. No it wont drive the HD600 on low gain properly IMO, I prefer the higher options. On very very sensitive IEMs I noticed the other day & slight hum, which stopped when I put my finger on the casing. 99% of my headphones have a black background.

I'm just curious if I don't install the driver from fiio website and let windows 10 install a generic driver, would it still have loudness equalization available? I enable that option whenever I play FPS game since gunshot sounds make me deaf and if I lower the volume, I can't hear the footsteps properly. Thank you!

Thanks Mike. Yes the line out will work with active speakers. It’s a variable output. It’s really important to unplug headphones if using the line out.

Thanks for your feedback. You would need the official Apple Lighting to USB 3 adapter and then use the cable that came in the FiiO box to connect to the adapter.

You're betting using the dac and amp of the Fiio on your case.

Hi Nick, you should be able to do that, although you may only be able to have one sound profile active at a time on your PC. Personally I would run both of the K5 Pro. Just remember to always disconnect your headphones if using the line out on the Fiio.

Just different. Also one has a power supply, and one doesn't, one is portable and one isn't, so different use cases.

The amp can easily power the akg. The k5 pro has 3 x the power at 32 ohms as the M11. You will notice the difference. But the m11 is portable all in one. The k5 pro needs power from the mains. Different uses.

At the end I ordered the k5pro just because I need the RCA out of the k5 pro to connect with my stereo so that I can use bluetooh with both my stereo and my headphones. Hope I did the right choice (not sure).

It’s a DAC amp. It’s not worth using a separate DAC with this. Use it as an all in one. It’s doesn’t colour the sound. I would look at some tube amps to power those 600 ohm headphones. Eg something by Littledot mk3. Personally I would not use 600 ohm headphones nowadays. Too hard to drive properly with low cost gear. It’s much better to get easier to drive cans. The ifi audio xbass would work with these.

You might be better get the ifi zen DAC 2 with the iPowerX and the zen can.

@@GavinsGadgets Thanks for the recommendations and opinion:) (but I will still go for the dt880 600 ohms) :) A zen dac v2 And a lake people g103-S seem to be the best option in my budget, and is probably what I go for, but I'm a little bit conserned about a reviewer that did some research and came up with that it's not so much about power, and more about the output impedence, when it comes to the dt880 600 ohms. He also says that the emotiva basx a-100 which is close to 600 mW, can be dangerous and break the headphones! The mW with the g103-S at 600ohm is 530mW, which maybe is to much? The reviewer recommends a mW of 100 and an output impedence peak at 100 ohms. Now do you think the lake people g103-S is good enough? I mean you think I should trust the reviewer and try to find something with 100 mW and 100 ohms output impedence, or go with something lots of power as the g103-S? Or something else with high power! (mW) sry for asking all this by the way, I just don't know that much about about amps and stuff.

I have not heard the g103. If you haven’t bought the Beyers yet, I can’t recommend enough about not buying the 600 ohm version no matter how much of a deal you can get them for. Trust me please, I’ve had them myself and use tube amps to give them enough current to drive them. The 250 ohm version is equally as hard to drive but a lot easier than the 600 ohm version. Personally I don’t think your budget is enough to drive the 600 ohms properly.

Yes. Need the Apple official Camera connector that is lightning one end and you plug a usb cable in the other. The newer iPad Pro with usb c doesn’t need anything special. Just usb c to usb as shown in my video.

Depends on your computer and OS. I had no issues. Fiio do provide a driver for Windows on their website.

The manual explains this. In a nutshell it has on the rear RCA line out. Just remember to disconnect the headphones.

Of course, it is a desktop DAC/AMP with its own power supply. Having the power supply helps a lot. The hip dac is a different type, being portable.

Yes should be ok. Use it in high gain. It drives some of my difficult planars just fine, so the dt990 should be good to rock as well.
