The key to Fiji's high skill level comes down to that leisure game we play every afternoon called One Touch rugby. It is played in almost every village in Fiji by boys as young as 4 years old up to men of 50 years old. This game is where all the skills is developed, practised and tested. The rule of the game is the same everywhere. This is the reason why many Fijian players know exactly what to do and play high risk rugby when it comes to 7s games.

Spot on...Imagine if Fiji is able to formalize this version of touch rugby and introduce it at school level and maybe even club level competitions of One Touch - Touch Rugby. Just the basic rules and include a kicking option with limited bounces of the ball. This would vastly improve basic skill levels across the board, it would level the playing field between urban and rural schools. Imagine an age group champion team from a school in Taveuni.

Why do you refer to them as "our boys"??? I find that to be offensive & very disrespectful. Do you refer to yourself as a boy??? They're not our boys but are "Young MEN!" Maybe you're just ignorant and don't know any better, therefore, I'll excuse you!

@@enchantedearths9894 the term "boys" is used in Fiji as a slang, a term mostly used in the Rugby pitch and by any groups of men. Its a norm.. So don't start telling or criticising people how they should communicate. speak for yourself and keep your political correctness issue to yourself.
