Today we are talking about how to Enable FTP over TLS on your Filezilla FTP Server. This is a really easy task and we are going to do it with the new interface!
You can easily setup FTP over TLS and effectively enable SSL Encryption on your server. This will help make your FTP server more secure. I also briefly cover how to allow access to your FTP Server from outside of your local network!
So if you want to open your FTP Server up to the world, then this is the guide for you!

i cant seem to get an external client to connect. ive properly portforwarded however it keeps disconnecting as soon as the connection is made. any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi! I have followed the steps and it works great. But I am facing this problem - I am trying to access server from an FTP app on my iPhone (in the same network), it says permission denied. I am sure I am using correct credentials. Not sure what am I doing wrong. Can you please help?

CSANS Darren great video! after I clicked connect my client times out saying Connetion timed out after 20 seconds of inactivivity, Failed to retrive directory listing can you help?

So, leaving a comment here does not get you a reply, I see. That's too bad. He says to use port forwarding "on your computer" -- you mean the one we're connecting from, or the one with Filezilla Server on it? I set it up on the computer I'm connecting from to no avail. I've set up the firewall rule on the server, followed all the steps, nada.

so everything locally (same PC) works. FileZilla using another laptop on the same work with both of the same client and same everything does not. I've put the 22 ports perfectly. I've put my IP address in perfectly. It doesn't connect. Also, how are you supposed to connect to what your server is hosted on? What if you have multiple servers on the same network active? Right now my other PC does not see the server PC. : ( I'm trying a new method to be able to transfer files just incase.. Google gets nuked or something because of WW3 at least I have a backup solution besides pencil and paper.

For me I can connect on the same PC as well. I can ping my PC from my other device just fine as well. The only issue is that trying to connect to the FTP server from the other device gives a "connection refused" error. I presumed that was a firewall issue, but nothing I try helps fix it.

@@rahul110587 I had to use regular FTP instead of SFTP or over TLS
