Su etapa en el Atleti ha sido muy buena, y ahora se avecina otra, pero no diría yo que individualmente haya sido mejor que la del Dépor. Aquí no ganó títulos, pero creció de una manera bestial, pasó de ser demasiado blando a convertirse en un cerrojo y, ya que era el crack del equipo, tenía libertad para soltar toda su calidad con el balón controlado. La manera en que manejaba la organización del equipo y las jugadas que se marcó en el Dépor no las ha podido repetir. La temporada 2009/2010, pese a la lesión, ha sido el punto álgido de su carrera en cuanto a rendimiento.
