Watching this video over and over again. The content is just mind blowing. If anyone ever thinks of aquascaping, they don't need more than your channel. I don't think anyone shares better advice than what you share on your channel. Hats off to you Master Filipe 🙏....I think I am enjoying the hobby more by following the way you teach... It takes a bit of time and patience, but everyone can do it... It makes a more detailed harscape and no need to use lots of glue... Just be sure the pieces are glued together and to some rocks to don't float. So far and after one week, no tannins, no cloudy water... Tank is running just fine.

I really enjoyed watching you setup master class tank. Yes Takashi Amano always said less is more and the most important one is the fine detail that not over do. Great video Filipe! Thank you so much for sharing in depth and letting us follow your proces. I know you have probably decided on the seachem hang on filter but another option, I would think, is the beautiful and small cannister filters that juris have shown on his channel. Made in stainless steel from an Italian company, the name elutes me. But thanks again
@FAAOAquascaping
@FAAOAquascaping 4 жыл бұрын
I think I saw it, if I'm not wrong the company name is liquido design. But as you have seen the tank where it's placed doesn't have so much space... HangOn filter still the best option to get access to clean and do maintenance. But that is a very good option indeed for those that have a small tank, not sure if they are suitable for 100L...

Amazing video Filipe! Having four cats myself I always thought covered aquariums are the only way to avoid hair or cat fishing. I would even think drinking is not healthy for neither the cat nor the fish because of the bacteria exchange etc This was an eye-opener in every aspect :)

Talking about aquascaping, Something I always suffer with is the fact that my scape doesn't look the same in a photo as it does live, I really enjoy my scapes in live or my friends say the same...but in photos I'm not able to achieve the deep and the look I have live :(....

That is probably the most difficult thing to do. Later you will get it too, it takes a bit to understand how both can match. The only way to capture what you see is to use a prime lense, doesn't do any distortion and what you see is what you get.

I have one question, I have a 60x30x30 aquarium and all the plants (all easy plants) are doing fine, but buces and anubias get cover in algae, but it still get new leaves, that get cover in algae once they get bigger.. Should I cut all the leaves?
@FAAOAquascaping

First you need to find what is wrong and causing the algae. If you sort it out, then you can trim. Otherwise you will end up in having the same issue.

Why type of gravel do you use? I cannot get the dennerle plantahunter her in the US and I can never seem to find or know what to search for when looking for gravel. Filipe, at what levels do you keep your calcium and magnesium in your tanks? I’m trying to have a low GH of around 4, but I see they reccomend minimum of 10mg magnesium, if I do 2:1 that alone would bring the GH to 5.1. That’s adding 10ppm of magnesium and 20ppm of calcium.
@FAAOAquascaping

Filipe Oliveira did you have your tap water tested to know the calcium and magnesium levels? It’d be nice to see you make a video of your dosing, how much you add of each nutrient, how often, and what levels you keep each nutrient at, cause your tanks look amazing, very natural.

Hi Filipe, finally getting to planting my new tank today. Using some ADA Amazonia. I've read so many contrasting opinions online. What do you recommend for cycling new tank with the Amazonia? in first week shall i follow the "For the first week, every day. For the second week, every other day. Three times during the third week, and two times during the fourth week. After the first month once a week is sufficient. " Also not sure if you recommend under 7h for first week of lighting? And lastly for Co2, I heard 0.5-1 bubble per second is ideal in beginning. thanks!
@FAAOAquascaping
@FAAOAquascaping 4 жыл бұрын
Well... Depends of a lot of things! If you are going to use invitro plants, I would suggest to cycle your tank with lights off for two weeks, then drain it, plant it and it's ready to go. If you are using potted plants, I would plant it right away and do just two water changes of 50% per week during two weeks and then just pass to one for week of 50%.
@1991watch

@@FAAOAquascaping Hey Filipe, as usual always appreciated. So I had 90% of invitro plants. But didn't think of cycling that way which makes total sense though. I basically tried to time everything at once, so now it's filled, plants are looking good. Wish I could send a pic in the comment here. Ok perfect for now going to do x2 50% water change as you said per week for 2 weeks, then the 50%. Do you know if doing water changes in this first week can slow down the cycling process too much? As my other friend said don't change water until cycled.

@@FAAOAquascaping Hey Filipe, currently struggling with some of the invitro plants, the ammonia is hurting them, including lack of iron, perhaps from ammonia I'm not sure. I've been doing daily water changes 50% for past 6 days now, still quite high amounts of ammonia but slightly lower (between 4.0-8.0 ppm). Should I go all the way to make 2 water changes per day? Screw this ammonia leech haha, which ADA advertised not putting plants in right away. Also wish I had read your solution of cycling with just water before planting but it was too late since already planted

I don't do that much because they grow slower than Anubias. The only thing I do is trim the leaves when they got some melt or are big. The new leaves will come very small.

@@gianlucamagnelli8201 you have to balance light duration, light intensity, good CO2 levels, proper nutrition and, probably, more important than all, good husbandry. Do you water changes, siphon the soil surface as you can, stick to the routine and algae will be minimised.

Fala Filipe, blz....

I was going to do that but since they overheat a bit I prefer to do it in this way to let the lighting system to cold down a bit to don't have a faulty unit. I use leds for a while, some overheat a lot when they run a full power, to prevent a burn out, it's better to let them 'breath' a bit

I need some time to do it and even after that there is a big risk of having it completely wrong. KZfaq does not generate subtitles automatically, I need to rewrite the English subtitles then use a online translator to turn them to Spanish. There is a big risk in having a bad... Bad translation.
