My Robinson side has been in the Philippines for more than 200 years, we are still trying to figure out how we came to the Philippines. Many of the Robinson family ended up marrying other prominent Filipino families. Related to the Mendieta (Aboitiz) Family and the Tarrosas.

Most filipinos claim they have european/spaniard ancestry, just because they have spanish names. But the truth is, they barely have a drop. Remember, their spanish names come from colonization, when native filipinos took their colonizers’ names, but that was just it.

Theres still a lot of Filipinos out there with high percentage of European dna, most if them still live in the Philippines and even if they do move to the US, they end up marrying white so many dont identify being Filipino. Im related to the Aboitiz family and theres two of them that I matched with. Their European ancestry is around 60-70% European. I do wish other Filipinos could post their results in KZfaq too. I have a distant relative here in KZfaq who made a video and he's around 10% European.

Enrique is most likely 70-90% European, hes probably like my great great grandpa since his mother line had ancestors who were mestizos from multiple lines intermarring. His family tree is available in Geni website. I match with the Aboitiz family and they are 60-80% European. There are only a few Filipinos today who are "white" Filipinos but they still exist, mostly part of the aristocrats.

These results will make the Filipino haters choke, lol. I saw a video about Eurasians earlier and I noticed so many racists towards Filipinos who claim to be mixed, and judge their appearance and accuse them of self-hate. The guy in this video could pass as pure Filipino but we can see here that he has an admixture so if ever he claims being mixed that's not really a lie. It's sometimes hard to share about your ancestry because you are exposed to trolls and they could drain you.

@@arthurmoran4951 You’re not making any sense. Filipinos today are just majority’s Austronesian, with Han admixture. Sure that’s not as mono ethnic as Koreans or Japanese, but compared to most southeast Asian and other countries, Filipinos are still homogeneous by far. There are 25 negrito groups who made up less than 2% of the population, and also only 2% of the population have Spanish ancestry mostly Bikolano and Chavakano. Also, what even is Pacific Islander mix? Filipinos haven’t received any genetics from Pacific Islanders, it’s the Pacific Islanders who received Austronesian genetics from Filipinos.

@arthurmoran4951 Жыл бұрын
@@DaveChuaa homogenous in what part? no human ethinic group are homogenous, negritos now have that low percentage because they got mixed with ancient austronesian, that also happens in the americas where full native american that were also already a mixed ethinic group ancestry got mixed with european and mestizos, now the majority being meztisos, what i'm talking about pacific islander are the ones who came back to the filipine archipelago. austronesians first got mixed from an already mix population in taiwan in the philipines. then it got mixed with the native population back then in the archipelago. then they continue throughout all the widerange where the austronesians went from madagascar to rapanui islands and hawai island. some of the voyagers came back to the archipelago, then chineses and indian sellers exchanging goods got mixed aswell and finaly the europeans. 2% of pinoys have european ancestry? that claim is false see this dna analisys from random 80 000 pinoy population that show that your claims are not right . make your own conclusion because i haven't seen any data from your claims: web.archive.org/web/20190522144837/genographic.nationalgeographic.com/reference-populations-next-gen/me come

I've seen about 10-15 different filipino post on here and majority got 95-99 percent filipino. I think the most european ive seen was 2-3 percent. I think what happened is, people born after the 1970s/80s are mixing with the majority who have more native blood, so the spanish DNA is no longer strong. Its cool to have european blood but it seems like a lot of filipino people seem so shocked or not as happy when they find out their DNA is majority 95% or more austronesian and asian. The ones that might show more european DNA are most likely born before 1950s and even way before that. you also have to remember that any pure spanish mixing happened 200 years ago and after that, there was a lot of filipino and other asian mixing going on. So after a while it was mostly just the spanish last names and tradtion sticking with the culture but a lot of indigenious DNA remained.

Youre right, for my family, our last ancestor to migrate to the Philippines from a European country had to be prior to the 1800, probably mid 1700s to late 1700s. The reason why the European stayed for so long is because they intermarried with other Spanish Filipino families. Some of my distant cousins remained intermarrying with white Filipinos and still have strong European ancestry (like my Aboitiz family member who is around 70% European despite being in the Philippines for a while). But I've noticed that in facebook groups where they share their ancestor's photos, the ones from the 1800s looked very Mestizo, more so than today because it's been diluted. I wouldnt be shocked if most Filipinos are part Spanish but are less than 1% since at one point in the 1600s, 1/3rd of the population was either Spanish or Mestizos so theres a chance that the 1/3rd of the population had eventually intermarry with the rest of the population centuries after the 1600s.

His mother's family were plantation owners who's descendants are now Billionaires (sadly not my clan LOL). Hi, my husbands father is from the Philippines with about 2/3-3/4 Filipino blood and the rest mostly Chinese with no European blood. My husbands mother is 1/2 Irish 1/4 German and 1/4 colonial American from the mid Atlantic region of the USA. My husband looks a lot like your great great mixed Filipino Robinson grand father. My husband has the Irish bone structure but the Filipino coloring. He gets mistaken for a non-mixed European American often. He's done DNA testing along with his Filipino father and 1/2 Filipino 1/2 Chinese grandmother. My husband gets 1/2 Asian with about 40% native Filipino genes and 10% Chinese genes. Although European looking mixed asians are uncommon, they are possible especially I think with southeast Asian mixed with Northern European genes.

that's pretty interesting! Since the making of the video I contacted more of my Robinson side (first to fifth cousins) all in the Philippines and its pretty interesting to see the phenotype of my distant cousins. Some of them look purely European even though they might be less than 20% European (guessing by the generations) while others look pretty asian (like me). What I noticed is that around 40s to 50s the European features become stronger in multiple members in my family. My dad used to look more Filipino but eventually, he started look a bit more European. I'm starting to see it with my brother too who is in his late 30s. Interesting to see how foreign dna can affect ones phenotype even multiple generations down. I was able to contact my Robinson family from England and it's very interesting to see shared features from their family and from the ones in the Philippines.

I don't believe 23andME, Ancestry.com DNA, or MyHeritage DNA when it comes to Asian ancestry. They have the least reference panel of Asian ethnic groups in the world. I took a DNA test from DNAConsultants.com back in 2007, and they said that I am predominately Filipino with Japanese, Chinese, and Cambodian ancestry. I also took a DNA test from National Geographic Helix DNA test, and it to said that I am 40% Southeast Asian&10% East Asian descent (I'm half Filipino half European American btw). Which makes sense b/c my mom said she had an ancestor who came from China to the Philippines back in the 1800's. Plus mytrueancestry.com also detected my Asian DNA matching with ancient people living in Japan, China, and Southeast Asia over 1,000-2,000 years ago. So I know for a fact I have Japanese, Chinese and Filipino ancestry because DNA companies like dnaconsultants.com get their reference populations directly from Asian countries showing it me on my DNA Fingerprint Report, and they even publish their data reference populations on their website. Anyway, there is one DNA company that tests specifically for people of Asian descent, and that company is called GeneLife (based in Japan). So if you want to know if you have any other Asian ancestry other than Filipino, next time your in Asia, you should test with GeneLife. I plan to take their DNA test next time I go to Philippines. They have more reference populations from Asia (obviously since it's based in Japan), where as 23andME, Ancestry.com DNA, and MyHeritage DNA does not. Here are the links for GeneLife DNA test and a youtube video of Singaporeans discussing their results (these Chinese Singaporeans have more diverse Asian ancestry than they thought). Since Filipinos were trading with people from Japan, China, and Mainland SE Asia over 1,000 years ago (as depicted in the Boxer Codex), we Filipinos are also ethnically diverse (even Jose Rizal had Japanese and Chinese ancestry). So you should check GeneLife out sometime. sgshop.genelife.asia/products/genelife-generations-ancestry-dna-test kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLBlhsthzcuuaXk.html en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxer_Codex

Your European DNA suggest that the progenitor is mostly an American during the American period rather than a Spaniard in the Spanish period. An American is more likely to have those mixed broader European mixtures than full Europeans. Your great great grandfather looks like Leonardo Di Caprio, and it kinda makes sense since looks like he was most strongly Italian. That uniform is certainly an American uniform. That explains your 5%. Although you do have Iberian at 0.6% which is consistent with Filipinos in your generation. And your parents have 1.2-1.3 % Iberian which is consistent with their generation. Your Berber/ most likely Moroccan ancestor though is I think the most interesting. It could be from either the American or the Spanish side.

Hey! The man is my great grandpa's father or my grandma's grandpa (her results are shown here there). Sadly her dad (my great grandpa) passed away in the 80s. No one else in his generation is still alive. I will plan on dna testing my mom soon but waiting for a sale 😆

@@vivalacarlo you’re great grandpa has extremely interesting features, he looks very asian. And I’m sure theres some resemblance to his dad but he really looks like a awesome Asian mix. I would’ve loved seeing his results, you’re family’s DNA results are what I would imagine my own family results to be like. So it’s why I’m suscribed to ur page! Also bro, did ur dads mum or his own dad have european ancestry?

@@moonknight4053 thanks for subscribing! He does have some Chinese ancestry on his mom side. Not sure how much but my grandma's ancestry update has her at 5% so probably my great grandpa was 10%. My dads mom is the one on vid, shes around 15% non asian dna (euro and others). My dad is at around 9% so I think his dad might have been around 6% Euro. He passed away when he was young and my grandpa was the youngest. My third cousins on my Robinson side (descendants of the guy at 6:00) are around 3% European so definately my dad's father also had some mixture. I will upload a new, hopefully next year i can visit the Philippines and dna test more of my relatives.

From the records I have I would say yes. My grandma thought she was 25% euro but if you look at her great aunt she looks part filipino too so it makes sense that she would be less than 25%.

Robinson surname is Irish origin
@vivalacarlo
@vivalacarlo 6 жыл бұрын
I kinda figured since many of my matches were of Irish descent rather than English, many of my relatives now in 23andme live in the USA, many of them have ancestors from multiple lines going back to the 1800s which makes me believe that my Robinson forefather's relatives were affected during the great famine. I've talked to more elders and they confirmed that my great great grandpa had blue eyes and reddish hair, probably from being part Irish and Basque. Wish i can find out who my Irish ancestors were but any matches will go back beyond 1790s and I'm not sure how well the Spanish kept track of the census prior to 1840. Might never find out who my first Robinson ancestor in the Philippines was.

Most filipinos who post their dna here in youtube have atleast 1% to 5% european in their dna. But i see some filipinos in dna that posted in reddit have more than 1%. I even see a filipino dna who have 14%, 21%, 37%, 38% iberian in their dna test. Yes some filipinos have european ancestry less than 1% to 5% and some don't. In all southeast asia i think filipino atleast have more european in their dna
