Also any dish that has sauce like the adobo, sinigang, diniguan, usually eat with utensils. If anything I’ll eat the fish and rice with my hands cus there’s no sauce other than vinegar for the fish

The lechon kawali sauce is actually made out of pureed liver based on the original brand Mang Tomas.

Usually the longanisa (sweet sausage) will come with a side of vinegar to dip in. It takes it to a whole nother level of flavor

Woah! trying homestyle Filipino food now, cool! all my favorites there especially the dinuguan 😍impressive that you automatically switched to a spoon for the rice and mixed up the viand with your rice. thats very very Pinoy. Dont worry, for saucy or soupy food we mostly use a spoon and fork. Hands are usually for drier food like grilled or fried seafood and meat, steamed vegetables and fruits. Unless we have no choice because someone forgot to bring the utensils 🤭Bistek does mean beef steak, and culturally we like our beef fully cooked, not rare ... sorry. Should have stuck to the spoon for rice though, so you get a hefty amount of rice in your mouth instead of on the table 😊Hope you enjoyed

The fish is good eaten with white rice, and the fish is dipped in vinegar mixed with salt & raw garlic. The pork is dipped in that brown/ liver sauce not the sweet chili sauce . The lumpia is dipped into the sweet chili sauce. Viands differ in Philippines. There are several ways to cook adobo. Depends on the region. Same with the viands. So many regions in Philippines. So there’s soooo many types of food. Also, soooo many dialects ( languages.) The universal language is Tagalog. But many speak English in Philippines. Everything is taught in English there. All textbooks in school are in English. Thanks for eating Filipino food. Hope you really enjoyed it. To really appreciate authentic pinoy dishes, try to visit the Philippines. Beautiful & VERY HOSPITABLE people. You’ll notice almost everyone is SMILING. Philippines have GORGEOUS beaches, resorts, malls, clubs( way better than the states.) ☺️

The green of the dinuguan might be hot green peppers or a green jalapeno slice.

Yes, bistek is beef steak. Yes, it is always well done. We don't do medium rare. For Filipinos, they see that as not cooked well.

If there's no rice, dinuguan can be eaten with puto, which are rice cakes that look like little mini muffins.
