Giving tip is a culture thing.😊 We do not impose it to anybody. If you're long following Mergim with his journey, you will know that he's not stingy like what other people here are saying. Him showing the Filipino traits to the world, for me is already a big help not only to the locals but to the whole country as well.😉

Thats what a bayanihan is! Helping others without expecting in return! That's a true Felipino traits..huwag nyo ipamukha sa mga banyaga na tayong mga pinoy ay tumutulong lng dhil may kapalit. Ska generous dn nman yan kong panoorin nyo mga old vlogs nya tumutulong dn nman hindi lng mahilig videohan pg abot ng pera kong anoman. Just saying.

Act of kindness was shown in this video and the people who helped mergim are not asking money in return.. And yet people in comment section telling that "he should give tip to them". I as a viewer and long time follower of mergim knows that he is kind and helpful. He did not ask for lower price if he want to buy something instead he adds more extra money and he oftenly give tip to people who gave a good service to him. He is pressured because of the trouble that he is facing in this video and you know what? After he succesfully climbed the main road, he stop and goes back to the people and showed to them that he is thankful for helping him in trouble as what you can see in the video.. Aren't you guys not happy that our local filipino people helping a foreigner? Filipino mindset always go with "money" that's bullsh!t kind of thinking

Giving money in return from a help is not bad at all - it is a sign of appreciation and a good gesture if a person takes it this way. In general, one must not expect something in return. But Mergim might have done it sans showing it to us. Remember this wisdom from HIS GREATNESS: " Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" so that your giving is secret and you shall receive a reward.

my experience was i wrongly u-turn my jeep to a wet ricefield at night and there's no way somebody could help me get it out but God sent me an angel of a guy who happens to own a big truck that can tow it out into the pavement. Filipinos are always ready to help without asking anything in return.

The tide could have sunk your car. It's not necessary, but returning with a case of beer, a bottle of rum or gin would have been appreciated. Next time bring a snow or sand traction grip with you. A mat would work too, like a banig or rice sack. Lowering tire pressure would have also worked. Loading the truck with more weight works against you when you're trying not to sink in sand or snow. The truck has more than enough weight to provide traction. Too much weight and you start to dig in. We used to do these tricks to get our vehicles out of a jam in snow, mud or sand during military deployment.

Filipinos are known for Bayanihan 💙 Helping others or helping someone.

In the city tipping is always practiced especially at airports and restaurants but countryside not practiced but really appreciated though many times they will decline.

Although folks in the provinces not really expect rewards of money in return for their kindness ,at least, you give something in return like buying some food for merienda for the group. Considering that you earn so much in your vlog, you have made the initiative. Maybe in return of your, you may helped others in need you encountered in your vlogging.

In emergencies: deflate a bit of tire air and drive slowly. Then fill it up to proper pressure.

All pilipino people are willing to extend there help you are dearly in need not only in the philippines but all.over the world.

In case of soft ground, you have to reduce the tire pressure.

A tip is a sign of courtesy..not for anything else but atleast a reward should be given to those who helped u..if u eat in restaurant in d US it's a must that u give a tip to d waiters, or to your hotel butler...but in this case, what if there's no people around, u probably stucked up there..no matter how small or big tip.. it's still a sign of courtesy..whether they accept it or not..but still it's a way of being thankful & grateful that ur saved fr that crisis.

I wish every Philipinio in Manila contribute 30 Peso each month helping the poor and homeless people. The supermarket, mcdonald, KFC, Jollibee, restaurant etc all have a can at a cahsier for customer to donate their left change for charity organisation .

I hope you tipped them. No one there really does a favor for someone without expecting a tip. It’s true. I lived there for eleven years. There is even a Filipino word for it. It’s really strange. Even among friends. They told me this too. If you ask them for a favor they expect something back in return. Mostly it should be money. It’s a poor country.
