3 years ago I watched and cried to this because I was in the exact position as her. Metaphorically speaking, of course. I remember just being stuck and not being able to move on for so long no matter how hard I try. I tried the usual advice people give like working out and focusing on a few hobbies but it never helped. It's been 3 years ago now. It was february this year when I was first able to actually cry about it and that was the first time I felt like I actually took a step away from that place. I end this year in a MUCH better headspace and with a happier heart. There's still some rough roadbumpsp along the way sure, just like the poop the lady stepped on as she got out of the fast food chain, but there's no doubt in my mind that I'm in a better place now. To everyone out there who's going through the same thing, slow progress is still progress. Take your time and don't force yourself to move on when your heart's not ready to take the step. Don't deny yourself the freedom to cry about it.

@@danielabili1992 yes, love is so unfair. I like the little speech Nicholas Cage does in Moonstruck. "Love isn't like they told you. It doesn't make things nice. It ruins us. We are here to break our hearts and love the wrong people".

3 years? Better late than never. Hoping your healing will be completed soon. It was mourning the loss of loved ones that was extended with heartache. Some people do want another person to be destroyed because they can't be with them or they are narcissist. That's the kind of person you would have hoped not to have been involved with in the first place. Prayer helps.

thats why this kind of movies is so great: it lets you interpret its meaning without revealing it, so you always have the possibilty to talk about it with random people or you friends etc. There rarely is a "good/bad" thing like in most hollywood movies, the movie just "is" and thats great :)

This movie shows that there will be nobody for you when you are dumped. Your friends will come try to convince you to move on and will just go. It will be on you to take your time. First you will deny. Then you will grieve. Then you will do something crazy like cut your hair short or something just the way she did with coke. And then you will push yourself out of it. It happens

I remember 8 months after my fiance blindsided me, still feeling just as cold + empty + dead + exposed, like a raw nerve, as the day he did it. And I thought that was the worst I could feel. Then there came the night I dreamed he came back, + we danced, + he said to me, "You didn't really think I'd leave you," & took it all back. And then I woke up, & discovered I was wrong; there's always a "worse". I continued to not be okay for another 16 months. That was years ago, before I met my husband. I'm glad now that I held on, but I'll never forget how it felt; the sheer weight of it, the windshear + drag. How it ached just to exist, one moment of the same pain after another. It seemed like everyone else was moving forward in time around me, & only I was stuck, jammed in place while my life left me behind. The creative team behind this film did an incredibly naturalistic job with this, at bringing that feeling to life, so vividly that it took me back there for a moment, myself. The lead actress as well. And the policeman, so unflinchingly brave in his vulnerability, was also spectacular. This is real art, guys. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Why do people have to be so rude with a person who is already in pain? 😕 bullying is the worst thing ever!! 😔
@stoichr33247 жыл бұрын
Bidisha Salim Barsha The perception that vulnerability is weakness is the most widely accepted myth about vulnerability and the most dangerous. When we spend our lives pushing away and protecting ourselves from feeling vulnerable or from being perceived as too emotional, we feel contempt when others are less capable or willing to mask feelings, suck it up, soldier on. We've come to the point where, rather than respecting and appreciating courage and daring behind vulnerability, we let our fear and discomfort become judgement and criticism - Brene Brown

The house is the past thus why she doesn't want to go back the restaurant represents a freeze frame of the present...more precisely the present at the moment she got dumped. The future is just a question mark...thus why she was stuck...but also what ultimately got her moving again. The present sucks...the past sucks....how bad can the future be?
@Lucailey4 жыл бұрын
i take this a little diffrently. I think this is showing us how we can become so stuck in our own upset and drowning in our own sorrow that we don't realize that there are people who can and do want to hep. Some will want to take advantage and others will think you are funny and mock you. They don't have the empathy to feel your pain. Anyway yo will stay stuck in that same place until you decide that you deserve help. You deserve good things and you shouldn't let shame and the past define you. Until you know that, you are doomed to stay stuck in the same place. it does not matter what others can offer or what they do. Until you realize that you are worthy of moving on, nothing changes. I know because I was in this same mind set for a good long part of this year but, I finally learned that all my shame and all my sadness was literally holding me in the same situation. I needed to take the help that was offered to me and when I did, I discovered that accepting help makes you a stronger person - not a weaker one.

For some people your emotions, feelings does not matter, cause it is not seen by others. Its hard to live in a society where people laugh on your wounds and cry on your success.
