These are personal video's, the ones from the 80-ies originally recorded on 8-mm film as home movies.

Thank you ever so much for sharing these videos of Muscat and Oman from 1980!!! My family moved to Muscat in 1987. Dad still lives there and I try to visit at least once a year. I love reading about the history of Oman and until now I have seen lots of old photos of Muscat and Oman, but very few videos...especially these kind of quality home videos!!! It is amazing to see how the city and country has changed in such a short period, without losing a sense of its culture and history (like some of its neighbours)! Thanks again.

I was out in fahud the same time period. Brings back memories when working for costain. Use to stsy in the ruwi hotel before flight home

@bahyahbachak We are now on summer holidays in Denmark / Sweden, but when we are back in Holland I will have a look whether there is some more of Ruwi. As you saw there is something in these 10 video's. I may also post some new video's in the next few months of our 'Great Oman trip' (Musandam - Salalah) and e.g. Nizwa 2009-2010. But that requires time (video not yet edited).

At 5:00 it is our Jewelry shop based in Ruwi, now renamed to Adams Sons Jewellery. Very historic video. Thanks for sharing this
