(116) A double bill for two related entities. Legendary filmmaker Tsui Hark (徐克) and his now ex-wife Nansun Shi (施南生) formed Film Workshop (電影工作室) in 1984, the name taken from a filmmaking course Tsui once took in 1970s. However the well-known ident did not appear in its first two films, until two years later in the blockbuster A Better Tomorrow (1986), and in 1989 saw the new CG ident that spanned across the glorious 1990s in Hong Kong film history.
Nansun Shi and veteran filmmaker Jeffery Chan (陳永雄) of Bona Film Group formed Distribution Workshop (發行工作室) in 2007 as an international film sales company specializing in the distribution of innovative Asian feature films. Labelled as "A Bona Film Group Company/Joint Venture" in the beginning, Distribution Workshop underwent reorganization in 2018, itself becoming a subsidiary of Just Creative Studio (正正創作坊), which remains a Bona affiliate (as seen from the initials JC).
