"Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver," is the follow-up to Zack Snyder's widely criticized "Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire," which premiered last December and held the dubious distinction of being Snyder's worst-reviewed work.
Unfortunately, this second part, while shorter and more direct than its predecessor, fails to revive the franchise, marked by its lazy attempt at worldbuilding and character development.
The sequel continues in a universe initially conceived as a "Star Wars" spinoff.
Snyder, known for his directorial work on "Dawn of the Dead", “Watchmen” and "300," arguably his most acclaimed films, is also known for his directorial work on Army of the Dead, and the Rebel Moon duology, arguably his worst films to date. While his first three films helped launch his career, his past three movies have cratered it.

Snyder is the literal "Am I out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong" meme. He did some ok films and for some reason, people think he is the second coming of Orson Welles but he is Uwe Boll with a budget. This man is a reason why good Netflix shows get canceled.
@WyattDucar
@WyattDucar 17 күн бұрын
Exactly at least Uwe Boll Clearly is aware that he’s hated Plus he even say “Fuck You.” In a video most likely for the film audience. Ultimately what I’m saying is that at least Uwe Boll Is Jake Paul Someone who’s aware that he’s hated but at the same time somehow make a profit out of it Snyder Not only is out of touch with the audience, but also Clearly having an ego problem (I will admit Uwe Was also an ego maniac as well, but still.) As well as an edge lord, in general Don’t get me wrong. I do feel bad for him for how ugly Warners Treated him during the DCEU (It was also his fault as well, but it was the studios that made it worse.) As well as the loss of his child Ultimately as a person based on interviews, he seems like a nice guy, but still I think you should find a common so we could adapt like maybe adapting sex criminals Turn that into a film for Netflix, (After all, he did sign a deal with him hence why he doesn’t do studio films anymore give it how ugly his relationship with Warner Turned out.) But don’t make him the cinematographer or the writer just be the Director who adapt shop by shot that’s it!

It's amazing to see Dune 2 and Rebel Moon 2 and their directors, both were dreaming to make those movies and even envision them since they were almost children, Dennis even made storyboards, while Zack simply had the idea (and ideas can birth scripts, but scripts can't be simply ideas). And while Dennis struggle to advance and improve his career with limited budgets and even had to battle Warner so he could do Dune and not getting the 2nd part canned, Zack was given the keys to the kingdom since the beginning and Netflix gave him money to throw for Rebel Moon, also Dennis was never showered with praise by the public, only by critics, people simply said his work was "good", while Zach has always being showered with praise by the public and shunned by the critics. Now the roles have been reversed, Dennis is a public and critical darling and Snyder is justly shunned by the public and critics. And now after the dust has settle, you can see that Dennis is aware he could made Dune 2 even better and he is trying to improve his art, Zach thinks his piece of shit is equal and above to Dune 2. One director was always hungry and fought for every inch, while the other never saw nothing else than a full plate and was given miles without deserving them.

Title: Fields of Rebellion Synopsis: In the lush countryside of a remote planet, a small group of farmers led by Cora find themselves thrust into a battle against an oppressive empire that seeks to exploit their land and resources. Cora, a former soldier of the empire haunted by her past, reluctantly takes up the mantle of leadership as she rallies her fellow farmers to resist the tyranny that threatens their way of life. We don't grow grain, we grow an alien plant that stores incredible amounts of energy as it spends months soaking up the unique solar spectrum of our sun. That's why we must harvest and process it by hand, as to not trigger the explosive release of energy by accident. That's why we can't fire cannons on the energy grain, because it'll cause a chain reaction that will expand and damage our ship. It's that easy to make up a rational reason.

To be honest, I think Bailsarius Should’ve been the villain For the duology And even though the assassination Was atrocious I do like him in the first movie With noble at the end, because At least he gives me fives of a calculating and quiet villain At least until this film (The reason I said it is is because I hate We’re just yelled and get angry. I love my feelings calculating and manipulative pure evil bastards like Palpatine or the bad guy from Chinatown Hell even Kurtz, Vito and Michael Coreleone. I will I actually do like Fra Fee An actor and I appreciate that they age him 20 years With the make up Which does hold up I will get Snyder that but still Like every actor in this film It is the script that is the problem, not the actor!

@@blurg2712 Exactly, Bailsarius is definitively an interesting character (I would go far and say he is way interesting then everyone else outside of Noble because well it is Ed Skrein, despite the over top assassination scene from Part 2. You have to admit the fact that he even managed to pull this off with a group of senators on his side is brilliant showing how a much of mastermind he is? His only mistake was branded Kora a traitor but from the grand scheme of things he actually did won. One of the things I actually thought I apprenticed Snyder for is giving the names of individuals from the Imperium these roman names especially Bailsarius being a name from a famous roman general Beilsarius who was the main general of Justinian's conquest of the west. I also will admit I like the composers were playing for the assassination almost as if Belisarius want this event to be remembered in History of the Motherworld. I do like how the bags on their heads represented some sort of Death. Ultimatley while the scene is ass I do loved the Music playing as well Junkie XL in general. (He always do great with the music.) I think Bailsarius has potential and Fra Fee is actually a good actor ultimately it's not his fault with the acting it's more of the script?

The movie might work better if it was set just after the Empire collapsed. And the Dreadnaught was just a leftover splinter group of previous army, wandering as Marauders at the outskirts of the populated galaxy. Which would explain why they would have to bully a small farming town for food and why a single death to their commander would hurt them so much. One of the reasons why “the 7 Samurai” wasn’t set against the force of imperial Japan but a couple of armed bandits is exactly that question of “how can this small group take on a country and win long term. It would even explain why the random village in the middle of nowhere isn’t even using modern farming equipment. The collapse of the empire would cut them off from the rest of the galaxy and they don’t have other options. Heck if you want to make your MCs even more interesting, you can involve them in the fall of the galaxy spanning empire somehow and how that relates to the people they help now.😊

When your interplanetary empire relies on small pre-industrial villages on otherwise uninhabited (and vastly underutilized) planets, your entire worldbuilding makes no sense. This whole thing is Harry Potter levels of self-contradictory and nonsensical. If you insist on giving your bad guys a dieselpunk aesthetic, at least go all the way and have your "farming village" be the local maintenance crew that oversees the largely automated industrial farming operation that spans most of the planet. That even gives you enough tech to set up effective traps against a full army with dropships and tanks...

@@danielshore1457 Would be the most realistic version, sure. But that's not always the easiest to understand for people who don't geek out over high sci-fi concepts like that. I'd be fine suspending my disbelief for something "closer to home" - like valleys filled with fields, and tons of crude arms, irrigation systems and giant shearing blades running on a network of guide rails between them, with the odd hovercraft with workers flying around and inspecting/maintaining/adjusting things. Throw in a line like "yeah it's not the most efficient way - but it doesn't take much to maintain and we have more than enough land for it out here, so... 🤷" and that would work for me.
@danielshore1457
@danielshore1457 15 күн бұрын
@@SKy_the_Thunder but then you have issues with scale and such like "why is this one farm so valuable to an empire that spans over ove hundreds of planets?" Or if it is a massive planetary wide farm "how are 7 people meant to completely defend this place?"
@SKy_the_Thunder
@SKy_the_Thunder 15 күн бұрын
@@danielshore1457 It would be reasonable for a moon-sized farm to make up for a significant percentage of what one planet needs, or a larger military division. They could still compensate if they lost it, sure - but it would be dangerous for them to set a precedent that others might follow. If 3 or 5 more farm planets get it into their heads to rebel as well, that could be significant enough to require temporary food rationing, at least for a certain region. Far from over-selling it as a "fate of the empire" threat, but still enough of a stake that they would try their hardest to prevent it. After all, the opinion of a government can sour pretty quickly if the population is faced with shortages... As for defending: That's where all the agricultural tech would come in. You have all that heavy machinery everywhere, so it's plausible enough for them to jury rig defenses. Some may be as simple as activating the harvesting cycle for a field and literally "mowing" down soldiers. And then there's other rather easy stuff like mounting guns onto sorting arms you can control remotely, or running improvised armored weapons platforms (= a bunch of scrap metal and weapons welded onto a passenger car) along the expansive network of transport rails. The invaders could never be sure if any moving part is just part of the regular automated farm processes or yet another weapon or trap - a hit to their morale and mental state that can't be underestimated. That's all stuff the ""farmers"" could set up themselves, with just a little bit of supervision and strategic know-how, because they're the most familiar with that tech already. (Wouldn't you know it? _Just like_ in the Seven Samurai!) On a remotely even playing field the defenders always have a massive advantage. So as long as they can keep the grain hostage to not be nuked from orbit, they should be able to keep the troops busy by using guerilla tactics. Enough for the main characters to attempt their strikes at vulnerable targets.
