Yuttham Sei was for me, the movie that heralded the coming of Tamil new wave cinema. Excellent movie. I started paying attention to Mysskin after this movie. Nandalala, Anthathey, Pisasu, Thupparivalan. He has not disappointed me yet. In fact, the reason I watched Thupparivalan despite my distaste for Vishal, was because Mysskin directed it.

One of the best. Mysskin's overflowing love for cinema with his child like curiosity is a great dose of inspiration dinning in the importance of learning. An interview that you may want to watch over and over again. There is so much to learn. Is a must watch. Mysskin seems to be almost enlightened to me. I have no disagreement with his technical prowess but I just wonder as to how a definite amount of violence seeps into his work. Also not sure about the darkness in his cinema that does not seem to have any place in the process that he applies to his learning. Despite these differences, I am in love with Mysskin and whatever he advocates in this interview. Thank you BR for bringing this being a perfect anchor, with the right questions.

Let me confess something here... This Interview changed my LIFE...I can relate more to the initial stage of Mysskin sir..perhaps being in the same stage and learning cinema more and more is something I am pursuing before completely being a part of the Cinema Industry. Well, thanks to FILM COMPANION SOUTH for providing Subtitles for such interviews. It's always helpful for a filmmaker like me, who almost follows all the regional language films in India.

I hope you have been doing well, Padmapriya. Life is the best teacher. We cannot plan to acquire wisdom. Life experiences and knowledge gained via various resources will make us wise. Although I do not read books, I encourage everyone to read as it is one of the prominent ways to gain knowledge. Learn from losses and keep yourself grounded when you achieve success. Whatever you take up your life, put in your best of abilities into it. I wish you all well.

I would always say Mr Mysskin is a gift for film industry, there is unsolving puzzle he has in his story making and screenplay .., the commercial intent of producers is as important as screenplay and story making isn't it .. if Mysskin can identify the gap between a film commercially succeeding in media/theater's " and " sculpting or portraiting a story with simple emotive screenplay .., he can and will be a touch wood director for young generation & years to come !!! Hope he fills this intellectual cinematic gap on the Given Script !!! Cheers 👍

40:00 - "Avanga urimai ah naan kora solala but inum deep ah irukanum." // This is where Mysskin is different from Arrogant GVM who belittles the audience for not having so called refined taste.

Amazing interview... Missed his presence in the roundtable.... Maybe we can have Mysskin once in a quarter for a workshop and that time slot we gonna spend will be super productive... Am so amazed by his articulation and exposure to Books to Art to Cinema to Western Classical Music.... I had a huge smile watching this interview.... Well spent 45 mins on a New Year's Day!!! Am sure BR you would have had a great time chatting with him... Like more than equals for a conversation!!! Thank you!!
