Thankfully the son redeemed that embarrassment of an atomic breath. Hell in the movie there weren't even flames in his breath. He just spout out flamable gas which is then ignited by an outside force. I did like the animated series tho.

@second thought but then again, Godzilla Earth was able to accurately detect and predict the path of the Gorath asteroid - theoretically having detected it in 2037 to then going into hibernation to save up energy to then destroy it in 2042, the supposed year when the asteroid was going to impact Earth. At his strongest atomic breath, the spiral beam, had been observed to go beyond 300 kilometers. For comparison, LEO (Low Earth Orbit) begins at 160 kilometers (100 miles).
