What can we say to this magic words haven't made to describe this majestic song.A perfect blend of mandolin,guitar and saxophone along with singing of Asha ji.Only O.P. Nayyar Sahab can create this magic.I am.very blessed that I had taste of listening to songs of golden era because people of my age bracket 20-30 generally don't like the old songs rather than they prefer to western music,rap songs or new Bollywood music's rather than they don't know these music's remains forever and ever.

from a facebook post in 2016- Born into a Parsi family in Thane, Maharashtra. Her real name was Hutoxi Reporter. She showed a flair for dance right from a young age and started taking professional lessons in Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Manipuri. Even though the Parsis were an orthodox community and her father’s decision to let her pursue dance was frowned upon, her father was very supportive as he believed she was learning an art form. It was with her father’s blessing that she got into films. She danced in countless films - Hindi films and for films in regional languages like Marathi, Punjabi, South Indian and Bhojpuri. She had a resemblance to Helen and has been mistaken for her from time to time. Her memorable performances include: the song “Huzur-e-wala jo ho ijaazat” from the film “Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayeg” (1966) where she and Helen perform as a duo in almost matching dresses; the song “Hum to kharab hue sanam” from the film “Samson” (1964); “Hai nazar ka ishara” from the film “Anita” (1967) where she and Bela Bose perform together; “Suno zindagi gati hai” from the film “Pagla Kahin Ka” (1970) where in an interesting twist Madhumati perform in a Helenesque avtar at a wedding where Helen is the bride; the theme song from the film “Night in London” (1967); and a cabaret number in the Bengali film “Kalankito Nayak” (1970). Madhumati currently runs an acting academy in Mumbai.

The guy gave music to the most obscure movies with the most obscure actors and thanks to him these movies ran. That guy is the great OP Nayyar!

great dance song with two very similar and beautiful dancers....the legendary Helen and Madhumati. Helen being the original became a legend and had a distinct identity. Madhumati was also a genuine dancer but due to her similarity to Helen not only in dancing but also in looks, she was not as well known. In fact I remember many times I would confuse her with Helen. The man dancing with the guitar is Manohar Deepak, husband of Madhumati in real life.

The dancer Madhumati and the guitarist Manohar Deepak were also together in classic song "Abhi kamsin ho..."by Mo. Rafi in Aaya Tufan.They are spouses in real life.That song is also worth hearing!!

बहोत ही उमदा गीत. ओ. पी. नय्यर की बेहतरीन कॉम्पोजीशन. उसपर आशा जी की मदभरी आवाज और हेलन जी की खूबसूरत नृत्यशैली. वाह क्या कहने? क्या ईन गानो का मुकाबला आजके गीत कर सकते है? इतना पुराना गीत लेकिन आज भी उतना ही ताजगीभरा लगता है. बार बार सुनो फिर भी मन नही भरता.

O.P. Nayyar's end was very sad. He was a great man who created magic with his music. He was very punctual and orderly and didn't tolerate any delay or mismanagement. This led to disputes with his associates and eventually this talented man was isolated. He gave up music and started homeopathy in the far suburbs of Mumbai. His punctuality and dedication became the cause of his destruction. Everything is good only to a certain extent. Even good qualities.

Only a genius like O.P.Nayar could have conceived a song with such a different overtones vacillating from Western to folk music. Salute to this genius.

This is in reply to keen eye query as to why O P NAYYAR Sahib did not work with Lata Mangeshkar ji Now O P NAYYAR Sahib had only stated in one of his program broad casted on vividh bharati in Jaimala special that his rhythm and style of his music work did not suit to Lata ji's voice though he acknowledged her talent universally and respected her voice by playing 2 of her evergreen songs in the said program That was a magnanimous gesture on his part and I was a witness to that Jaimala broadcast That answers your query Keen eye I hope
