DuVernay comes to the Directors Close-Up to share her insight on directing and discuss her evolution as an artist.

i love her and Oyelowo so much more now. 27:25 is hilarious. Also 51:18! i'm glad she dragged that trash movie the interview. Queen.

that white lady is SO COLONIAL. AT 40 minutes when she brings up that quote, she's referring to the fact that ava was forced to give her writing credit away in order to get the funds to produce the film. she should not be GLOATING that ava took her advice; ava says now that's one of her biggest regrets, giving up the writing credit for selma.
