Great drone footage provides Brakes an updated view of the recent solar addition, resealed & striped car park! Also the warehouse is very busy compared to googles. ⭐⭐⭐👍 The car park access rise shows the site is near the hilltop of the former Pinnacles Wood. Sysco acquired Brakes Group food distribution in 2016 for £ 3.1bn. The warehouse unit is leased from Tritax Big Box REIT, 276,213 sq ft, and was previously Tesco Distribution which closed early 2013 in a major distribution system restructuring. Brakes installed in the solar system in spring 2022 providing ~15% energy needs. The solar is projected to provide 930,000kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to 321 households (Knight Frank article). Brakes followed up with solar at their Aylesford depot in early 2023 with almost full roof coverage (2400 panels and ~25% energy needs). Brakes hopes to reach 100% renewables by 2030 so maybe more roof solar in the future.

Modern trailers dont req wheel chocks, there brakes are fail safe , once the tractor unit disconects they lock on and if an air leak develops , it dosent matter , they need air to release, ,

I like the fact that auditing has educated so many people. There are still the odd plonkers, but many more times now, people know the score and are pleasant. I prefer that to aggression and argy bargy.

i worked at Brake Bross KETTERING BLOODY HARD WORK and minus 35 in the big freezer they threw boxes of chips at 28lb each at you from the back of the truck to the front to stack about every 10 seconds and you had to catch and stack them

The things you were saying you weren’t 100% sure what they were are roll cages which they would pack the orders into ready for delivery as the cages can then be rolled from the truck onto the tail lift then rolled into the place the delivery is being made. They are quite common nowadays as it allows the delivery to be pre-packed then rolled into the vehicle and rolled off at the delivery site. Normally it will be left for the delivery site staff to unpack and then when the next delivery is brought the full cages get delivered and the empty ones collected.

The barriers have been broken for a while, and the ones on the carpark are permanently open, people bikes and scooters are always getting stolen, thats how great security are! The first guy with the white hat on, is inbound manager, the other guy is facilities manager

have you ever tried to move a trailer with is brakes on also, Look out for electricity substations and overhead power lines. Make sure you always fly more than 50 metres from these, as well as from people and properties.

there were a few perks though we had 15 fruit flans one night that had gone off centre because a guy stacked them wrong and the pub they went to sent them back they were around 25 inches across and we ate them bloody lovely and some boxes of ice cream used to get broken oops we had to eat them as well

a lot of brakes loading is done at night to be delivered the next morning it was job done and finish if its the same company so in slack periods you could work a few hours and get paid a full shift then times like chrimbo you would be working overtime and get paid more it was a well paid job at the time
