People who think Sam is the real hero have missed the whole story in my opinion. Frodo volunteered to essentially certain death mission. He suffered the will of Sauron for a year, he continued the journey even after losing everything. He is clearly the biggest hero. But the point is that only the co-operation of the whole fellowship was what allowed the win. They are all heroes, they all raised to the occasion, raised on another level, did their duty. But if we have to raise one as the most heroic, it has to be Frodo. If we base everything on his mistakes, that he "failed" then we should say that actually Gollum is the real hero as he is the one who caused the ring to get destroyed. Frodo's pity towards Gollum was the key to the success, something that Sam would have effed up.

I love hearing different ones talk about looking after each other, Liv for Orlando, Sir Ian & Christopher Lee... they're all amazing, but I just have to say how much I *LOVE* Sean Astin. That man is a gem. "I sort of appointed myself as his kind of minder... I wanted to look after him, make sure that he was okay." "Sean was very much Sam for me." I'M GONNA CRY 😭 The thing that always gets me the most, every time I come back to any stories about this movie, is how perfect the casting was - on so many layers, each one of them embodies the elements of their characters naturally, or had those traits in them already. It's so impressive; what a gift to the history of cinema.

Oh man what I would've given to see these in theaters. Sadly I wasn't even 10 when the movies had their theatrical release. My parents introduced me to the films when I was 12 at home and they were still awesome but it would've been so amazing to see them in theaters. It would've been wasted on me as a 7, 8 and 9 year old though.

It's up there with the best trilogies ever: SW, BTTF and Indiana Jones with the perfect ending with Sean Connery before they decide to..rape the series P.S. If we want to expand the term "trilogy" we can include among the masterpieces the trilogy with " The Man with No Name" starring Clint Eastwood

Earlier today I watched a reaction video to people seeing Gremlins 2 for the first time. I had totally forgotten that Christopher Lee was in this as what was basically a mad scientist. Every word spoken here about Lee's acting is 100% spot on, as shown even in a movie like Gremlins 2. He receives a package, mildly excited, "Ah! This must be the malaria I ordered." Looks in the box and sees there has been a mistake, so with disappointment and wrath dripping from every word he says, "Rabies?! I already have rabies!" Absolute classic line, delivered with utter perfection.

Not only just actors. stunts, cameramans, editors, musicians likewise all the people who involved it, has done their job perfectly.

This is what I find so lacking in many modern movies and franchises like marvel. Not mentioning the green screens and special effects, for films like infinity war many scenes were filled with only one actor at a time with other actors being cgi’d in later. This meant that some actors didn’t even know who they were supposed to be shooting with and we’re just following the director’s instructions without knowing what was actually going on so there is a lack of the kind of camaraderie and true friendship that you see in the lotr which just furthers elevates each of the characters individually and as a whole.

Best film ever. Nothing comes close in terms of soundtrack/beauty/story telling/professionalism/attention to detail/size of production/ending the story/consistency/tradition. Brilliant. The Star Wars films could learn a lot from LOTR. To have LOTR on your CV must be a great honour.

Yet Henry Cavill was fiercely protective of interpreting an author's work and has been vilified for it
@charliedavies9274

I never really got into the Witcher series however if an actor gets vilified for wanting to stick to the SOURCE MATERIAL then I’m 100% sticking with the actor not the show runners wanting to make a quick buck. One of the main reasons as to why the LOTR trilogy has remained successful is due to the cast and crew wanting to stay faithful to the source material only making slight changes for adaptation where necessary

Cause for LOTR everyone wanted that authenticity, the accuracy to the book, but for The Witcher Netflix wanted to take it in a different direction while Henry wanted it to stay accurate to the books and the games so he left which really sucks, he's basically perfect casting you get a dude who embodies this character who knows the backstory and all the lore and you ruin it by wanting to be a cash grab

@@Forest_Sofa I don't have Netflix but I did read the books. It always seems strange after seeing a movie where the actors play iconic characters so completely, to hear that there was ever anyone else considered. Viggo absolutely IS Aragorn, in every detail. So weird to hear that he was a last minute change. I know it happens more than we realise in cinema but it's still wild to hear every time
