And actually, seeing these behind-the-scenes shots actually make the film less sad for me - Susie herself was never supposed to be a happy character, but seeing Saoirse AS Susie here having a laugh brings a more cheerful side to Susie, even though it's only Saoirse dressed as her :)

I love how funny and cute Saoirse is, and Peter Jackson's pretty funny, too. I've admired Peter as a director since I first watched all of the "The Lord in the Rings" movies and all of the behind the scenes of those movies. Saoirse is one of the best actresses we currently have in this generation. I hope one day to get to work with both of these fun and talented people someday.

This girl now young ladies has a magic quality unique to her. The first time I saw the movie, I was in awe. The see where she is dumped into the sinkhole affected me deeply. Fuck murders, you don't know how many peoples lives are ruined. It is always the victims family members that are given the life sentence.

A slender girl in development, a little girl voice, a near mature adult mind, a prodigious actor. Not a pretty and precocious youth, but an intelligent near woman. Peter Jackson, the other actors, and the crew knew to keep a watchful eye on Saoirse. She was just enjoying practicing her chosen craft I have zero doubt that Saoirse will be a director in future. She's too intelligent not to have learnt much from those she's worked with.
