What a shocking reversal, to have JEFF watch the video through, and TAYLOR pause it! 🤣😂🤣💜💜💜

In the context of Jin's military enlistment, when he was running and the camera was pulling away making him smaller and smaller, I could really feel the separation, I wanted to grab onto him before he disappeared. I don't know if it was intentional or if anyone else had the same feeling but this scene invoked the sadness created by his going away for 18 months.

The exteriors of the neighborhood was the Golden Oak Ranch backlot (a Disney property) in Santa Clarita, about an hour north of LA. The downtown you might recognize from "WandaVision" and is a Warner Bros. lot. The roads and desert scenes were filmed near Fort Tejon Park and Lebec about an hour north of Los Angeles.

Great reaction! It's so great you have Taylor to help you, but there are a couple little things - they don't really matter but maybe it will help to correct them. I only know because someone corrected me: LUMPENS is not the name of the director. I used to think it was too, but it's the name of the MV production company. The director's name is Choi Yong-seok. The guitar belongs to Jin. It used to be Chris Martin's favorite guitar, and he gave it to Jin during promotions for "My Universe". When asked if the other members received such a precious gift he said no, because Jin is the oldest and in Korean culture he should be recognized as such. He also said the whole BTS/Coldplay relationship began with Jin's idea to reach out to them about a collaboration. The two of them have become close, and if you watch the live performance it's easy to see his big-brotherly love for Jin pouring out on stage. The set is on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank. The space ship scenes were shot near Tejon Ranch, just south of Bakersfield. One thing a lot of people missed (including me) are the trees surrounding the space ship in the second half, to show that many years had passed since the crash. What Jin said is that he initially signed with Big Hit as an actor, so when he was asked to join BTS everything about the singing world was alien to him. He found a home in this strange new world with the help of the members and ARMY. There are also props that represent each of the members: obscure books for RM, a "bubble" vase for Jimin, a second guitar for Suga, old record player for V, stereo speakers for JK, and an instant camera for J-hope, and a solar system mobile for Coldplay. The story also recreates several iconic scenes from past Coldplay music videos as well as scenes from the Bangtan Universe storyline. His enlistment date and location were not supposed to be revealed, but some of his deployment details are not a secret. He will be sent to one of the two front line divisions after basic training. This is where 70% of soldiers go. One of the divisions provides the soldiers who serve inside the DMZ. If he is assigned to that base we will get very little news about or from him during his entire deployment. Media are never allowed access to that base. He will even be limited in where he can go on his days off if he serves there.

Looking to left of frame is looking back in time, looking to frame right is looking to the future, so he’s positive about the future. The pickup truck is also emblematic… it refers to the BU and HYYH.

Based on their later interviews-- Coldplay wrote the music and the English-language chorus and were initially going to write one of the verses, with Jin writing the other verse. Chris Martin really liked Jin's verse (in Korean), so asked Jin to write the lyrics for both of the verses. Chris and Chris's son Moses did the backing vocals, too.

this song is for members and ARMY. The astronaut costume is both Jin wondering who the heck that is, plus RM wore it once in a concert. Jin is saying I was shy and nothing until BTS and ARMY. His room is full of things from or that represent the members.

I loved Taylor's comments. Would have liked more of Jeff's comments on how the video was shot. Also, Jin's live performance with Coldplay was AWESOME!

Thanks for walking him through it Taylor.😄 One of the things that I took from the video was related to home and family. If you look at the room, it is filled with items that represent the boys. Yoongi's guitar case, Hobi's Polaroid camera, Jimin's glass flower bowl, RM's stack of books, V's lava lamp, JK's travel bag, the laptop that gave them ARMY and the guitar gifted to him by Chris Martin. For me, these are all of the people and things that have represented home and family to Jin over the years. When it comes to BTS, everything has a purpose and meaning. These are just a few my observations and thoughts.🙂 💜🕊💜

I love Jeff’s reactions and this was different because he was so immersed and not in question mode. It’s a gorgeous video so no wonder. And Taylor Mari, you’re a real one. Good for you to remind fans/army to stay away from Jin’s real life endeavors (well meaning, but potentially dangerous). The guitar represents the connection between Jin and Chris Martin because during the filming of my universe when Chris Martin came to South Korea he gifted the guitar to Jin. The reason why Jin is going to the military it is mandatory for all South Korean men between the ages of 18 and 28 or in the case of BTS two years ago when the government allowed a a deprave of two years which was unofficially called “the BTS extension law” I think he would understand more if you were to explain that reason why he is leaving. Which this song has a lot to do with the connection of why he will be leaving for a little while and why he will come back to us he is the astronaut in this scenario of the music video. The song actually was written by Chris Martin in English the melody and the music whole accompaniment was done by Coldplay. when Jin contacted Chris six months ago, Jin explained everything to Chris Martin about the reason why he needed to have this song done before he goes off to the military . Chris Martin completed the whole song in English and he said to Jin take the verses and put them into Korean whatever you want to do to The song specifically the song was made for Jin . Chris Martin is the one who wrote the major lyrics in English and did the music. Please let him see the live version where Jin goes to Argentina to sing the song live with Coldplay on the stage at Coldplay’s concert, Plus there’s an incredible moving & emotional speech that Chris Martin tells the audience before Jin steps on the stage it would be really great if he could react to that as well.💜

it´s not just a bell at the end. the bell was the second contender when BTS named their fandom. the sound of a bell is pronounced "bang" in korean just like bangtan (BTS) so they originally wanted to call army bell. i think the bell not only announced army´s waiting but also Bang-tan boys. they found a way to tie both army and bts in with one sound and they know army knows this story and was able to figure it out
