I love watching your reactions to these, after having played since 2008, it's fun to see through fresh eyes. The flags during Kilrogg's vision are incredibly important, so are the armies & who they're made of. Because of this he *knows* until he sees these flags. He will *not* die. He can do anything. Do keep in mind, at that point in time, the Horde didn't exist, the Alliance on another planet not connected yet. Humans do not exist to Orcs nor Orcs to Humans at that point in time.

Worth noting that the vision isn't literally what the main Kilrogg or the WOD one saw, but a possible vision. Still, your point is entirely correct!

It is weird to see ogres in Warcraf to be shown via flashbacks they once had a flourishing civilization long ago that had the orcs as a slave race, basically, comparing them to now, kind if jarring seeing they degenerated into almost mindless brutes

There's a bit of old lore that is pretty much left in the shadows that says the Ogres are _not_ stupid. They're all very intelligent, the stupid sounding ones just don't care to learn to be fluent in the languages of those they consider to be their lessers.

@@MrBern-ex3wq If there was, is not canon anymore. In current lore, the migthy gronn evolved from earth elementals in pre-historic Draenor; but as resources dwindelled; theese migthy beast where born smaller and smaller, until an specifically small branch evolved into a whole new species: the ogers; mutch smaller and intelligent than the previus mindless beasts; and mutch more adapted to survive... ...but evolution was not one with them; ans some ogers evolved further moore into an even smaller; smarter and mutch more adaptable race: the orcs. Unlukcilly; the grons never realized they where been replaced by the new race; but the ogres; where smart enougth to see the potential of the orcs, and quicklly enslaved them... the ogres where not as clever; but clever enougth to create a societty. This mostlly due to the ogre magi (a great minoritty of the race on thoose times) been actually mutch more clever and having a natural affinity to geomancy due to their earth elemental heritage... ...but on the long run; the cleverness and addaptabillity of the orcs paid up. Instead of having a brainiac for ech 10 morons; every orc is quite cappable on their own; not to mention that afinnitty to elemental magic was no so limited; and orc shamans begun to srpout... and long story short; Oger empire crumbled once their eslaves became free tribes; and the remmnant is just a husk of moronic guys waiting for someone to say them who to smash with the big club...

20:21 someone kinda pointed it out already in live chat, but his face is literally getting swallowed by the wolf visage, by the savage monster, just as the narration says, underlined by the fact that the contrast makes the wolf outline appear black, just like the black fur of the garn-wolves. 28:40 wow, i dont think i ever noticed the flags. this made me also look at the sound files from his boss fight and there is on line, when we enter his arena, where he says "you look familiar", the whole time i though this was about the brief time we encountered him at the beginning of the expansion, but he might recognize the player character(s) from his death vision. 32:15 one of the "unspeakable horrors" maraad mentions isnt even touched upon. the cutscene implies a normal siege, but gul'dan unleashed essentially a biological weapon, the red pox, upon the city that would kill thousands of draenei and crippled any that werent so lucky. the "Broken" faction of the draenei still exists to this day, some of them little more than animals. "luckily" prophet velen foresaw that shattrath was doomed and so most civilians fled to safety and only defenders -i.e. draenei military- remained in the city, sacrificing themselves to make the orcs believe they won a total victory.

There are so many interesting videos for you to see between the main cinematics, like these ones, so here's some recommendations (for when you get there) Burdens of Shaohao (Relating to Mist's of Pandaria - Similar to Lords of War) If you are curious as to the fate of Gul'dan, there is a video called "WoW Legion Nighthold Ending" - Where you can see what happens to Anduin's father Varian, and Gul'dan For Battle for Azeroth, there is a video compilation of all the rendered cinematics on KZfaq called "Varok Saurfang's Mak'gora" that plays all four story cinematics in the right order Off the top of my head, these are the most epic "side" cinematics. If you like, I can look a bit more into it to see if there are any gems I forgot. Keep up the amazing reactions, your expertise in your field really shines through, as well as your interest in the content. Very entertaining to watch.

On a bit of a binge mission here, so hopefully you'll read and consider these two comments. Considering you've met Anduin in the War Within (and other) cinematics, a lot of his character progression happens in Shadowlands, so for when you watch the Shadowlands cinematic, I would recommend these, in this order; "Beyond the Veil" > "Shadowlands Cinematic Trailer" > "Sylvanas Choice Cinematic" > "Chains of Domination - “Kingsmourne”" > "Anduin Raid Finale" > "Sylvanas Windrunner & Anduin Wrynn Epilogue Cutscene" There are also some of the 2d art style videos similar to Lords of War / Warbringers etc, called "Afterlives", where the one called "Afterlives: Bastion" is at least worth a watch and reaction. For legion, as well as the one I wrote in the first comment, there is one called "Alliance Broken Shore Cinematic" you can watch before "Wow Legion nighthold ending" as well as "Argus the Unmaker Defeat Cinematic" in order to understand the War Within cinematic a bit more. It'd be great to watch you get a deeper understanding of the main characters of the cinematics you have watched and will watch when you get the the next expansions, and these cinematics I have listed in the two comments will definitely help you become a Loremaster yourself! ;) Looking forward to seeing the content!

I honestly admired the Orcs in these cinematics for their bravery and resolve; only Maraad did ‘the wrong thing’! Did you pick up that their specific art and colours are reminiscent of Frazetta barbarians?
@Kaotiqua
@Kaotiqua 8 ай бұрын
That art style is used in all the stop-motion graphic-novel-style cinematics. It's a fantastic tribute form, and really makes them even more of a pleasure to watch. Also, if you're a Frazetta fan, you should look for an animated film called Fire & Ice, from the 70s. Frank Frazetta and Ralph Bakshi. Gorgeous epic barbarian fantasy.

Draenor is a savage, primal world, with no worldsoul (unlike Azeroth), and was ruled for eons by the Evergrowth, vast sentient jungles. The Titan Aggramar found this world and decided that letting the plants overrun everything on it was not acceptable, so he created Grond in his image, a massive elemental of earth and metal, to combat it. Grond fought the Sporemounds that were the mind behind the Evergrowth, and killed two of them before falling to the last. The energies released from their deaths allowed the elementals to gain power, and also created progressively smaller and more numerous versions of each. Grond's death led to the rise of the Magnaron, who in turn saw the gronn rule the land, with the ogron and ogres descending from them and being ruled by them, until the ogres rose up against their masters and created their own Empire, the Gorian Empire. The orcs which descended from the ogres were conquered by the new Empire and kept as slaves, and the greatest fighters were made into gladiators for their amusement. The orcs eventually rose up against their masters, and now only a small remnant of the vast Empire exists in the form of Highmaul, a stronghold in Nagrand. The other ogres, no longer part of this unifying kingdom, further devolved into the stupid brutes we know today, living in scattered ogre mounds and bashing anything that gets near. The original Horde recruited several Ogre tribes to fight for them, and Gul'dan used his fel magic to mutate some into two-headed Ogre-Magi, somewhat smarter than their single-headed brethren, but wont to argue with themselves :P The orc uprising is led by several of these new Warlords, most notably Kargath Bladefist and Grommash Hellscream, with aid from Blackhand the Destroyer whose fortress had not fallen despite repeated ogre attacks. Other Warlords of the Iron Horde we get to meet later are Kil'rogg Deadeye, Ner'zhul, and Gul'dan (leader of his own Stormreaver clan), and the Draenei who oppose them such as Vindicator Maraad, Exarch Akama (who we know from WC3 and BC), and Yrel, whose journey we follow from acolyte, to vindicator, to exarch. Durotan, the father of Thrall, led his clan far to the north to escape the ogres, and kept his clan separate from the others, and thus never joined the Iron Horde (which we have to help defend him and his people from in WoD). WoD was great in that it introduced the new Garrison mechanic where you could build up your own stronghold, decide which buildings to put where that offered different services and abilities, and send soldiers and recruits on missions to gain resources and bonuses. For us oldschool RTS players, it was a very fun thing to have (but then Blizzard really, REALLY overused the mission table mechanic all the way up to BfA when I stopped playing).
