Our first Filmmaking Showreel is here! We are Melior Studios, a Production Company in the UK that began in May 2021. Looking back at this year we're grateful for all the projects we've worked on as well as all the talented individuals and teams we've met.

Everything was shot on the Sony A7iii

@@BillyBwilly only the clips that were shot in slow motion in the video were shot in 1080p. The rest of the clips were shot at 4K 24fps

awesome as always. we wish you 2022 full of new content like this . I have a question for you about davinci workflow. What do you think about working with a 1920 * 1080 timeline and 4k video (with proxy or optimized) , to lighten the operations, and before exporting, converting the timeline to 4k, and exporting?

Thanks a lot Paolo, we wish you the best in 2022 as well! And this is exactly what we do to remove the stress on our old machines. We edit on a 1080p timeline, using quarter resolution or half res proxies and then when it comes to exporting we switch the timeline to 4K and then export the video

Thanks a lot Feran! We didn’t use any in any of the clips of this video, however we do sometimes use a tiffen black promist 1/4 strength

I would have thought it was shot on the Komodo or BMPCC. If you didnt state that it was shot on A7iii. Because all these years ive been using A7iii and never can I create these tones. Thanks to you guys, Im getting in love with my A7iii

Man big love, we appreciate that a lot Billy, though it would be nice to shoot on the Komodo haha. The A7iii definitely has its limits tho, saying that it is a camera where you can push the image pretty far, we love it

Hey Joseph! Unfortunately we don’t use LUTS to grade but we do often use the Powergrade CinePrint16 to create a filmic look and more recently the plug-in Dehancer

Real flavourful. The shot at 0:19, how was this achieved good sir? With IS turned on or off? I presume just handheld, ninja walking or? How did you avoid any type of obvious footstep shake, is real nice

Thanks so much. The shot of the man on the tree was a fun one and had to do multiple takes to get an okayish one as the ground was very uneven. We used a manfrotto type tripod plate and used it as a top handle by turning the camera upside down, Then, attempting to do a ninja walk we just walked forward steadily as best as we could

try to keep all the shots with the same fps, unless you are going for slow-mo. I can see you have captured some good frames but there are inconsistent fps in the shots, some are 60fps some are 24 fps and the rest are 30 fps
