Captain America is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis powers of World War II and was Timely Comics' most popular character during the wartime period. The popularity of superheroes waned following the war, and the Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication.
The character wears a costume bearing an American flag motif, and he utilizes a nearly-indestructible shield that he throws as a projectile. Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young artist enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental "super-soldier serum" after joining the military to aid the United States government's efforts in World War II. Near the end of the war, he was trapped in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in modern times. Although Captain America often struggles to maintain his ideals as a man out of his time, he remains a highly respected figure both with the American public and in the superhero community, which includes becoming the long-time leader of the Avengers.
Captain America was the first Marvel Comics character to appear in media outside comics with the release of the 1944 movie serial, Captain America. Since then, the character has been featured in other films and television series. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the character is portrayed by Chris Evans. Captain America was ranked sixth on IGN's "Top 100 Comic Book Heroes of All Time" in 2011, second in their list of "The Top 50 Avengers" in 2012, and second in their "Top 25 best Marvel superheroes" list in 2014.

A film adaptation of the Silver Surfer would raise the bar so much. I don't understand why he was so neglected and misrepresented in the FF movie. He should have been in the Infinity Gauntlet saga.

Charlie Cox is the Daredevil in the MCU it was already shown in Spider-Man they're saying they're bringing back Ben Affleck along with a lot of other Legacy actors for Secret Wars which is an absolutely great idea I would love to see Ben Affleck and Charlie Cox on-screen both in their daredevil costumes in any fight scene

Agreed. Love Pedro Pascal, especially in Mandalorian, but this seems like a major miscast. Diversity rule in Hollywood is important, but often playing out in weird ways.

I don't know... he might surprise... If he loses the mustache and goes clean shaven OR goes full beard, he's not too far off, in my humble opinion ! In acting the part, I have no doubt he'll do just fine...!

@@DoctorKimbo, it's not a moustache or shaving problem, he doesn't look at all like the character. No one doubts his talent as an actor, but he'll never be believable. It's exactly the same problem as when they cast Jessica Alba as Susan Storm. They never learn from their mistakes.

So Reed would have to be taller and thinner (among other things)... who'd YOU cast ? The only one I can think of right now would be Pierce Brosnan... if he lost a few pounds...! ;-)

Disney just cant learn. The Marvels and Madame Web flopped why do they think Spiderwomen will not flop. Whats with all those obscure characters. If they want to keep the franchise alive they need better choices. Key players are what keeps people coming back for more. I've read marvel comics for about 35 years and the movies are falling short. Put that Glover movie on the cutting room floor where it belongs.. There's some cool stuff coming but it looks dire for the MCU. Keep pushing the woke agenda and see what happens, don't forget how Dtar Wars was handled.

Marvel's gotten really distracted by politics... I hope they can come out with something good in spite of that. 99% of crappy Hollywood movies are crappy because of either the writing or the editing, and remember that those are not the biggest part of the budget (the famous actors are), so I hope they can get that part right at least... No excuse not to, when it's so cheap relative to the overall cost of a movie.
