Laughed at "who doesnt sit down with a straw hat and hedgetrimmer". Our little computer room is a dumping ground. My son said he will come and clear it (things will be flying) but I will let him soon. My husband keeps tools and rifles in the bedroom (air rifles which are heavy) and it's like a pharmacy. Going to purge it soon. Found $4500 in spare change in the bedroom he had been saving recently so took it to the bank. It was great and wiped our debt. He would have just left it there. Kind of funny. He couldn't have cared about all the coins.

Sadly enough that is what a lot of people do to hoarders. When they realize they will take in everything and never say "no", they will misuse them as a dumping ground. I saw this with an ex-friend of mine. People would come to her and "gift" her with absolute trash.

@@kathryndalton9867 "Just" set the price right, and it moves fast. Or set it high, and offer to trade with more expensive but much smaller things (no matter if you are into them or not), and "always" trade value up, size down. Then put the new things up for sale at the same terms, and you will end up with a tiny thing worth a million - in theory.. But at least you will have space and less noise in your head.

As a hoarder myself i have to watch this kind of stuff once in a while to be living in a acceptable home. But I can't think of me living in a empty house. The idea of not having stuff to be creative makes me sad. But 4 sewing machines while never sewing is maybe too much.🤔🤓 I've a lot of showergels wich i don't use for 25 years. World war 2 in which my parents grew up is still in my mind, my body and my behaviour. The scaring story's of having nothing i do remember everyday. Always living in the past and prepared fot the future but not in the present. Its time for the showergel tomorow.

@bina nocht Thanks for your comment. I agree with with the sewing machines. The thing is that i had no money to repare them and the machines i get for free. The douchegels, i got them on my birthday but i'm allergic to most of them so i only use the one which i bought by myself. Finally i didn't trew them away but i used them to clean the bathroom and it works fantastic. And...the last iten the sewing machines are not dirty and I never met someone who are looking at a sewingmachine? Whats that? I read a book from mari kundo. She definitly changed the way I live but it is not the holy bible. I think it is important that you live the live that fits with your personality. I love Mari Kundo too but i'm not Mari Kundo. I discovered that trying to be like anonther person make me very sad. Yes, I get many compliments when I clean whole day and give a lot to the charitything making a fortune but it feels like wasting my days and my lives. It is not about me, maybe a little, but i want to be te voice of people who are not happy with sterile empty homes. Thanks to your comment I will look for a good place for the sewingmachines. Have a good day.

My son came by one day as I was watching a hoarders show, and he asked if I recognized myself in these. I said, "Absolutely. But I have adopted a mantra to hold me in line. That is: People are more important than things." That is only part of my solution, but it does put in perspective the importance of priorities. I will always live in a silent dread of how poor I was growing up and my early years of being on my own where I owned nothing, so I will always want pretty and useful stuff around me. Bare walls fill me with a sick feeling of emptiness, so I have pictures hanging on every wall, even bathroom and hall. I also am a bit of a clean freak and ADDH person. Everything has to be clean and properly arranged. I cannot stand to see any garbage, even a clean peace of paper out of place. I have pretty trash baskets in every room, so nothing is ever allowed to be on the floor with the excuse "It will be fine there until I get ready to clean." I believe in "A place for everything and everything is its place." I really do know where 90 to 95 percent of all my household miscellaneous and all my tools are (carpentry and repair such as plumbing or electrical.) When I have a hired hand or family member ask if I have a certain tool or item when they are here working, I can have it in their hands in 15 seconds. Perhaps that is why my sons do not hassle me about getting rid of some of my hoard. Do I have too much stuff? No doubt about it, but this is me and this is how I live.

Well there's no dog poop, human feces, dead animals and rat poop and piss. Mold and fungus and there's no bio hazard, it's not a hoard it's just unorganized clutter. The above situation that I mentioned well surprise surprise pretty common theme in American hoard. This was pleasant to watch actually. American hoarder makes me scratch off my skin and bathe in bleach. People piss in bottles and poop in buckets and throw out in yard. This is actually considered clean as per their standard. Pretty darn clean

That was exactly what I was thinking watching this. The American version is disgusting. Most come across as incompetent and should be placed somewhere. I mean who I. Their right mind lives like that. Especially the ones with children. It’s beyond disgusting. I’m not surprised it’s only in America. They are completely unstable and they say iver 90 % return to their filthy ways. Not a surprise either, the way they tiptoe around them and coddle them. It’s absurd. .

I would pay her even 300£!! Because I know how much more money the host of the program will get for it. Also watching the series of that program- they don’t do much effort to sale it for better price for those people😵‍💫 The cheques are very discounted for those people sadly 😞.
