That orangutan baby doll is the stuff of nightmares

Whenever I declutter something, I like to sort everything into categories first, and then pick out what I want from each category and donate whatever's left over. For instance, if I was doing my closet, I'd separate my summer shirts, winter shirts, pants, etc, and spread each category out so I could see exactly what I had. It works really well for me. I couldn't just pick up one item out of a big messy pile without knowing what else I had before making a decision about it. No wonder these people look so confused when they're sorting through their stuff. I'd feel the same way doing it like that.

Back in 1974 I went to a friend's Father's house. She had told me not to mind the mess. I had no idea what we were walking into.A House filled with newspapers! You could not see any of the walls - just piles and piles of every local newspaper in our area!! Every room we were surrounded by piles of newspapers! We had a Really nice visit with her Dad. He just had a thing about collecting newspapers.

I am so glad I am a purger, much to my detriment sometimes! My husband of 44 years passed in December, if I reacted like this my home would be full up. I hate a mess, I couldn’t live like this.

The newspaper guy made me laugh, with everything he says.

The common denominator with these hoarders is that none of them are house proud. I couldn’t imagine sitting on some of the filthy sofas…….and as for the carpets, who knows what is living in them?!

I find Tritia delightfully eccentric. I hope she manages to stay on the straight and narrow. She deserves to have a lovely home.

So jealous on some of her dolls. Some gorgeous ones. Im glad she kept most. The actress was gorgeous and i really loved her ways. The archivist needs to sell and dehoard the rest. I hope he will.

The junk in the house looks better than revealing the disgusting carpet and walls. So effing gross.

There's something very creepy about old dolls *shudders* & more useless than cushions on the bed. I'm early in but I bet it turns out the husband is a hoarder too. Probably his newspapers: Nope that's another fresh Hell. Madness.

Every time looking at these series i’m thinking: where do they get the money from? Many of these people are quite old and can get pension i get it (but even then is being shopaholic affordable enough?) but some others who are in their 40s and constantly staying around? They gotta pay their house bills, food, and a whole ton of clutter, I can’t get over this how people are wasting their lifetime and valuable resources (it’s their lives and they’re free to do whatever, right, but it feels sad)

Many of us have lost loved ones, had broken relationships and health issues but we don't all hoard; I think the compulsive to hoard is always there.
