Very well explained. Being a tutor, I keep getting assignments. Amongst other things, in one assignment, there was one question about sustainable growth rate. I almost gave up on the assignment until I happened to see this video clipping. it was very clear and not ambiguous. THANKS A TON.

Why in the other video is sustainable growth rate just ROE*Retention Rate? In this video, you are dividing by 1-ROE*Retention Rate. I'm not sure which is correct.

@MrWjd5070 Here we are calculating the SGR for the next year of the company. Assuming that the debt equity ratio, payout ratio will be constant each year and no new equity will be raised. When you calculate the SGR at the end of the year to understand at what growth the company has grown this year then we use this ROE*Retention ratio formula.

There is another widely used formula i.e. SGR = ROE * Retention Rate. I tried using both the formula but under different ROEs , different results were shown... isn't it confusing?

Use old equity for Roe X b formula..... And for Roe X b / 1-(Roe X b), use new equity which includes new income after paying dividend.....
