In this episode of Fina Fisken TV, the plan is to catch a big sea trout. To do this, Johan Ruhe and Niklaus Bauer goes to Ljusne where they fish for the sea trouts with flies and spinning lures. Johan also catch up with Lars Cajander and they travel to Gotland where they try to catch a sea trout with bombarda and "Gulp".

Hi y'all! Lars Cajander, Abu Garcia/PureFishing here. The episode is a few years old but the method is still catching fish... A short explanation about the rigging of the Bombarda, it's best to attach the Bombarda with a Berkley "Easy Clip". Tie a thick mono to the Clip and thread it through the Bombarda, make some knots, any knots will do, to let the Bombarda rest upon. Rig a few different Bombardas. Now you can easily change weigth and buoyancy of the Bombarda acording to different fishing conditions. AND IT WILL NOT TANGLE. The Gulp bait is heavier than most flies used for fishing with Bombarda. The bait will drag the Bombarda sideways if you attach the Bombarda with your main line trough it. Bombarda using Gulp Alive baits is outstanding for seatrout fishing, especially during the colder season because you can fish it extremily slow...

Var ute igår kväll och fiskade Havsöring med mina polare fick en på 7,6 kg helt galet min största för i år :) ner senare igen och testa (Onsala - 3 mil syd om Göteborg)

Hej from Denmark. I dont understand the way you use bombarda, the line must go throu it. You put into the swirvl, it cant move. and what use do the pearl have, when the bombarda cant move, your knots are safe.

Hi Line! No you need this special rigging for "fishing with 2 weights". Weight no1 is the Bombarda and no 2 is the bait. If you thread the line through the Bombarda it will tangle wile casting. The Gulp Bait will pull the Bombarda sidevise. If you only use small, light baits, like a fly it's no problem...

And the plastic pearl is only to protect the rod ceramic ring from the metal swivel. A long tackle like this, makes you sometimes forget to stop retrieving... :)

The plastic pearl is only to protect the tip guide from being damaged by the swivel if you retrieve to much. This tackle is a rod length, easy to stare at the bait for to long... :)

I have also seen anglers here in Denmark using those flavoured grubs but together with heavy jig for fishing cod. They were catching, while I did couldn't by using the usual metalic spoon or simple twisters. I guess those kept in jar are more effective. But for fishing seatrout.....in which periods of the year does that bombarda method work? Does it also work during winter?

It works better in winter! The colder water, the more slow you can retrieve. When the seatrout hunts fast in warmer water, "coastvobblers" like MO Coast or spoons like Toby will work better.

Late answer, sorry! Standard seatrout rod will do just fine. 10' -30g. I've been using both a Berkley Skeletor 10' 8-32g & a 11' -30g.

Gött fiske, riktigt fina öringar.... men jag är intresserad av att se hur du trimmade gulpen, du nämner det flera gånger men visar aldrig..

Bara att prova och testa själv. Fiskar du riktigt långsamt så fäst Gulpen i lite vinkel så får du yvigare gång. Vid lite snabbare inspinnig fungerar rakare montering bättre!
