Fidelity’s mutual funds are still cheaper than Vanguard’s! The cheapest Vanguard mutual fund minimum investment is $1000 and that is for target date funds! Vanguard’s S&P 500 mutual fund: VFIAX requires $3,000 mean while Fidelity’s FXAIX is a cheaper alternative without a minimum investment! Mutual Fund: Fidelity ETFs: Vanguard

I worked at Vanguard for 9 years and met Jack Bogle several times. He was incredibly kind and humble. He would come to retirement parties for crew members and spend time talking to all employees. He was such a classy noble man. There are many on Wall Street who would of taken advantage of the average working class professional if it were not for Jack Bogle.

The men who actually built america typically died in severe pain, bankrupt, alone, and poor. The people you see in history books are either the survivors, or rode on the backs and coattails of others to achieve fame and success. The same is still true today; most famous and important people you see in the news did not contribute much to society, but rather were very good at taking a lot from society for themselves.

The Standard & Poor's broad-based index of U.S. consumer confidence has reached historic lows, primarily due to inflation. The decrease in retail spending, home-building, and manufacturing output has led consumers, who play a crucial role in the U.S. economy, to reduce their spending on non-essential items like appliances and services. Despite the current market conditions, it is essential to encourage saving and wise investment decisions. As for profiting from the present market turbulence, I am contemplating whether to sell my high six figure ETF/Growth Stock portfolio.

This is by defintion, the greatest philanthropist, in financial industry to me. None of others can match it.

Not being a billionaire does not have anything to do with selflessness. By definition being a billionaire means you created that much value for other people. Billionaire status doesn’t imply selfishness. Thats just an oversimplified analysis. It’s plain wrong. Actually it’s more likely to be exaclty the opposite.

However , 2 questions 1 ) Someone can correct me here , but it doesn't appear as though Vanguard is being influenced by the WEF's use of ESG scores . 2 ) Vanguard owns quite a number of shares in the MSM . So are they using their shares to influence the MSM or do they own all these shares only because they are an Index Fund ? .

I read his book "The little book of common sense investing". It changed my life. I ditched the high fee mutual funds and invested in low cost index funds after reading it. Mutual funds and "actively managed funds" are virtually guaranteed to leave you with less and it's a compounding effect in a negative way. The book broke down the numbers in such an easy to understand way. I am on pace to retire far earlier than I once thought possible. Now after knowing his backstory in more detail I am even more impressed with this man. Lower fees allow all of us a better chance to build wealth and live a better life.

25:00 : I think they struggled to get enough money into the fund to get it up and running but I think Bogle had some powerful academic people who committed some of their investment money to the new index fund and finally it got up and running also the amount of computer operation power to run such a fund in that day was much harder to come by in that day than now (I wonder whether a Univac I could have done it? Probably not.) Did young Bogle go to school/University where the original ENIAC computer was assembled?

The broad-based Standard & U.S. consumer confidence has sunk to record lows, thanks mainly to inflation. Retail spending, home-building, and manufacturing output all declined and those who drive the U.S. economy, are starting to cut back on discretionary purchases, such as appliances and services. Regardless of our market conditions, however, we should continue to promote savings and smart investments. How can I profit from the present market turbulence? I'm still debating whether to sell my $125,000 ETF/Growth Stock portfolio.

I always knew that its only a matter of time before the bull returns back to the market, you just have to be patient. As bad as this recession may be, it still provides good buying opportunities in the market if you you're careful. It can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not a financial advise but get buying, cash isn't king at all in this time! It hasn't been in the longest time.

Yes it takes patience to survive the market, so I recommend a long-term. Investing should be more like watching paint dry or watching grass grow. If you want excitement, take $800 and go to Las Vegas lol.
