Death of a child is devastating, especially the way her son died, but I managed to pick up myself, for my living child, soon had another child after. But I was never the same,my heart is never full, anymore.

Losing a child is devastating and nothing is ever the same. I think, it ruins your life. How do you go through losing the love of your life? My beautiful boy, my first born, the child of that made me a mom, gone! I think of him and miss him everyday and it’s been 14 years. I’m not the same person because the worst thing in life happen to me and I don’t see anything, like before I lost him. I loss my ability to live a carefree life, everything was different. How could the sun still shine, my Robert was out of sight, I would never hear his voice, his laugh or see his face and gorgeous red hair again. Every picture of him means the world to me because there is nothing on earth that can take his place. Too much pain, I would have left this life, but wanted to stay here for my daughter. Just a very terrible time. My husband and daughter wanted me to be fine after 3 yrs. Me too, but I couldn’t change, didn’t want to nor had the ability to. I struggled a lot for 8-10 yrs. I still feel grief, it doesn’t go away. It gets easier over the years because you get use to your child not being here, but the heartache remains.😢

Too much grief. It is a fact that someone can pass with a broken heart. She lost her ex-husband and then her son, both in a short time apart, and goodness knows what else she endured. Depression can place someone in a void of blackness, and it seems that with the mixture of alcohol and drugs, this all contributed to her passing. She was a beautiful soul, full of light, empathy, and a vibrant female warrior who stood up for her beliefs. Thank you for this video. Well presented.

A great beauty, a talented actress, an international star who was a loving daughter, devoted mother & wife, who probably suffered from undiagnosed bi-polar depression, but never got the help she needed. She exacerbated her mental illness with drugs & alcohol, which led to her unplanned, unforeseen suicide due to the many tragedies suffered throughout her life. Alain Delon stated that she was the love of his life & he should have married her. He was the love of her life, but her emotional problems kept them apart until they worked on a movie together then afterwards went their separate ways again. Many tried to help her, but first she had to admit that she had a problem & seek professional help. Unfortunately, Romy was too self-destructive to work on getting better -- if not for her -- then for her daughter. She had a responsibility. It would seem that she loved her son more than her daughter and chose to follow him in death. It's a tragedy & a pity that her son's death & permanent grief led to het spiralling downwards with no safety net in sight. I've been a fan of hers for over 55 years, every movie of hers that I watch is a sad reminder of what could have been had she had the willpower and wherewithal to make the necessary changes. She chose to hold on tightly to her grief & wrapped herself in mourning permanently. There will never be another Romy Schneider -- she was uniquely beautiful, emotinally vulnerable & subtlely captivating on screen; she gave of herself without requesting anything in return.

Thank you SO much for this. I've only seen her in "Good Neighbor Sam" (1964), & "What's New, Pussycat" (1965) on TV as a teen, one of about 3 U.S. films she appeared in, of which unlike many crossover European Actresses of the day, who quickly became footnotes, she really shined in what were basically throwaway Hollywood leads. But even with those 2 films, I sensed something extra & could never forget her, which was why I was shocked to read of her death at such a young age at the time, & was always frustrated never to find any more details of her life & acting career in Europe prior, other than some very vague online bios. So this is the most enlightening feature of her I've ever seen that clarifies many things, but also explains why there's no need to know the specific details of her death, that while sad, CAN be let go of. R.I.P.

Romy Schneider and Elvis Presley have a lot in common. Being worldfamous at a young age, very talented, very sensitive, very charming, beautiful, soulful, very ambitious, full of self-doubt, careless with money, using sleeping pills and amphetamins. And dying from a heart attack at a young age leaving a young child and a new lover behind. So many similarities! They were too sensitive for this world!

When i was younger a rather distinguished gentleman said that i looked like her. I totaly disagree. I looked nothing like her. But whilst in a train station in Italy and wearing large sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat,i noticed a lady constantly staring at me from a nearby table in the stations coffee shop/bar. I started getting palpitations when i saw this lady come over to my table, gently take my hand and whispered " i reconised you immediately ". I replied that she was mistaken " oh no im not she gently replied " ( all in Italian of course). I'm sorry i said but who do you think i am. Why,your Catherine Spaak. Who by the way was a French actress and later a tv celebrity in Italy. This lady is not the the only one to say that i looked like CS and here i tend to agree. It's a pity that at the time i really didn't believe anyone who told me that i was attractive . In those days we were not encouraged to be vain. Only now at 71 as i look at myself in the mirror 😢 do i realise that i wasn't bad looking after all 😂😂. Old age, suffering and life will change our appearances dramatically, but somewhere in the depth of our hearts....memories remain .
