Girl I did not know you were here in the Triangle! I’m in Durham but it’s been very helpful and inspiring watching your videos. There aren’t many videos on here of people taking us on their interviews and decisions and all the emotions that come with it. I plan to apply next cycle so this is helpful more than you know, if you’re ever open to talking (don’t know how much time you’ll have as a 1st year med student lol) but I’d appreciate it ❤ congratulations on everything and all your success to come! Thank you. 🫶🏾 What’s crazy is I considered that in my decision because my fellowship exposed me to so many macro and micro aggressions. I didn’t want to deal with that in medical school and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. I’m sending you love from here. 🤎 you got this.

Congratulations!! 🎉 Morehouse is an excellent medical school!! You are going to thrive there! Congrats on the 5K as well. To get faster, you need to build endurance. To get endurance, you need to slow way, way down and aim for covering more distance in a longer time. By slowing down, you get faster! ❤ Congratulations again, so excited for you!! 🎉

@@ShaVaughn I applied this last cycle like yourself! It was my first interview in the beginning of fall. But I was waitlisted a month later. So, I'm still waiting on that decision. But, I'm happy to receive an acceptance to an MD school a week ago!

Congrats! I’m applying next cycle and am taking my first (and hopefully last) try on the MCAT next month! I also recently ran my first 5K since high school, and I think I might pick that up as a hobby after this MCAT grind 😅

How did you go about picking schools to apply to intentionally? Did you pick schools before you started studying for your mcat?

I pretty much did everything at the same time lol. Very rushed. You should do it before submitting application tbh and just refine it as time goes. But, I used MSAR and it primarily helped me find schools that were in the locations I was open to and the school’s demographics. After creating a list on MSAR, I researched each school for their mission and curriculum to see if it matched mine and applied to those that did. Stats are also shown on MSAR so you can factor that in if you’d like!

Hi! Thank you for the support. Not sharing stats is a boundary of mine! I don’t like aiding in the anxiety that made my experience with the MCAT depressing. BUT, I do not mind sharing resources! Khan Academy, AAMC prep material and full length exams, Jackwestin for CARS and their flashcards, and UWorld. I also used KZfaq videos to cover content gaps I needed understanding over. Those are the recourses I used and I think they will help anyone get the score they need/want. Lastly, stats are important but they are not a guarantee! Make sure you prioritize your personal statement and activities section! Good luck on your application. You got this!

Thank you so much for your respond! Did you use the questions as content review ? Or did you have a dedicated content review session first? I’m trying to figure out what’s the best thing to do at the moment. Also how long did you study for the exam? And how long do you recommend?

@@user-pc6pk8ty3h I forgot to add khan academy omg!!!! That’s what I used to do content review. But sometimes their videos were confusing so I’d source different videos on KZfaq. After your initial content review, the questions should def be reviewed and seen as a way to figure out content gaps!
