The episode category is also a category for WADs with 30+2 maps, but it's not often used. Some wads get incredibly long and/or difficult, which is why the episode category exists. It has nothing to do with ultimate dooms episode format as far as I know.
A full single segment demo of plutonia on nm100s is extremely challenging, even for me. This video shows the full run done in 3 segments, which of course is much much easier to do.
In a full run you would keep your health and weapons into map 11 and 21, so for those parts it is actually easier. Map 12 would be significantly easier because of armor + 600 cells, and you have a BFG for map 22, other than that the difference is minimal. Of course the major difference is that you start over at map 01 when you die and you need to finish map 30.
The most difficult levels are maps 32 and 23, 32 is right in the middle and map 23 is closer to the end which means a lot of effort is wasted if you die there, which is quite likely.
On map 26 I miss the megasphere secret due to a mapping error, however it's the same as doom 2 map 15 and as you probably suspect it can be triggered as well, so here's a link to an individual level run instead: • Final Doom The Plutoni...
I'd definitely include 100% on map 26 if I did the full run, but the effort to get something like that done is most likely a bit too much for me. So here's basically the full route for the run if you want to do it yourself, it's quite simple, just do what I did and don't die :)
