As I have already been stating recently through the most efficient channel worldwide @pingsunday , Ma Long is in another league. Untouched by Fan and still the Real Captain. Other player fans that tried to convince him to throw the towel and quit, through writing negative things when he lost some games of no real value and importance for him, have to reconsider and realize that he is still the No. 1. The big question is when somebody will convincingly dethrone him (when someone will beat him 3-0 or 4-0 to make a statement that he can dethrone the king). Until this to happen everybody has to realize that Ma Long is simply in another level. He is the GOAT, the TERMINATOR. Regarding the statements about his age, please don’ t say he is old because table tennis has no age as far as you are fit, train and have a healthy lifestyle and this has been well proven in these trials!!!

Ma Long played a near perfect game. He exuded a lot of energy and was very focused. Also, I think he changed his tactics compared to his earlier games against Fan by playing more parallel.

Ma Long has developed a very practical and effective backhand style and technique with emphasis on power and variation to deal with powerful (right-side) bachhand loopers like Fan or LJK over the years. In Tokyo 2022 final and this match we see that Fan’s tactics to exploit Ma’s backhand side failed. Ma is even so confident in his backhand now that he does flicks too (things that we rarely see him do against Fan). It is not like Fan is not on the same level with Ma. It is just that he needs to find a better strategy, and maybe gets stronger mentality when facing Ma.

Well! both of them are great and let's just enjoy watching them in the next few more years especially playing against each other before one or both of them will be out of competition on the world tournaments because of the aging caught up and also young players moving up to replace them. Just enjoy watching ML playing when he is still able to play tournaments until his last one. It will make many people sad including me for sure, and ML will forever be in people's hearts! ❤

Consistency was the key for Captain Dragon to win comfortably in straight sets. It seemed FZD was a bit tired and lacking, as he rushed some of the shots with unforced errors.

Coach, you teach the traditional Chinese method of playing table tennis and why it is so superior to the other methods. As a close watcher of yours for years, I am not surprised that Ma Long continues to beat the best because he is the only player who uses the traditional Chinese method of the game fully, including equipment and stroke selection and technique. Second set was monster. Improved pushy parallel backhand. Only 1-2 points lost on own serve. Confusing serves and lots of variety. Making FZD playing ML game. Not the other way around. This is phenomenal. Who ever dares to say Ma Long is finished or past his best needs hospitalisation, totally destroyed FZD here. He has the best forehand in the world, yet is comfortable to mainly stay on his backhand (which is crazy good too). He can read patterns of play from his opponent so well, and is never predictable either. His game is evolving as he gets older but is still the player to beat for me. GOAT by a county mile 🙌🏻
