I grind sinscales for 5-6 hours getting all of Tidus's overdrives in one go then save at Kilika port. I then use that save each time I feel like playing the game from scratch.

1 tip that should always be included. Give khimari steal before the mt gagazet fight. He can steal a few lv 3 key spheres from the ronsos which is incredibly useful prior to 3rd seymour

Holy yes, I'm definitely keeping that in mind!! That Seymour fight was what I've been stuck on and so never got to Zanarkand!! (I have only started playing again after not having the PS2 for over 6 years)

@@anapeglar4602 If you're still stuck then before the fight make sure all the aeons have their overdrives. When you're fighting Seymour wait just before he uses the attack that screws the whole party and summon an aeon. They'll be killed, but you'll avoid the damage and be able to use their overdrive to yeet him. Or just get yojimbo if the fight starts irritating you. Pay him a ton of gil. I think its high millions. He uses an ability that will one shot anything.

My top tips for FF10 in general: 1. Make sure you steal items regularly in every battle. The Use command is pretty busted but you need the items first. 2. Send Kimahri to Rikkus grid as soon as possible to learn Steal and Use. You can do this as early as Mi’hen Highroad. Two thieves and item uses are much better than one. 3. Whenever fighting a boss look up what status effects they aren’t immune to. Most bosses have a status effect or 2 that you can inflict on them. 4. Pay attention to the effect each action you take in battle has on the turn order so you can learn how to stack turns in your favour.

FYI: If you're wondering... no, you're not alone. The audio _did_ cut out. The commentary stops at 6:56, leaving just the music playing for the rest of the Sinscale grind/boss fight. The music then fades out at 10:46 during the victory spoils screen, thus completely muting the audio and any commentary for the next tips. At 15:30 the commentary and music abruptly cut back in, so be ready for that accidental jumpscare.

Note: It takes 170 turns for Tidus to get Daredevil and 260 for Auron. At least more than 10+ min

you can combine that with loner. get Tidus into critical health, then kill Auron. Go through your returns until you get loaner, then revive Auron and get him in HP critical status. once Tidus has daredevil, kill his character and then keep passing turns until Auron gets both loner and daredevil. it shaves off a little bit of time when you combine them that way.

For the grinding, you can just switch in Yuna and Lulu for a turn, make them use a single move and switch them out. They will get the same amount of AP as Wakka, Tidus and Khimari even with that single turn. This also makes a fantastic spot for everyone but Tidus to get Slayer and Ally Overdrive modes.

Whenever I re-play this game: 1. Get Loner on Tidus on the bridge. 2. Get 50 Potions on Al bhed ship, Kill Rikku, Set Tidus' Overdrive to Loner. 3. Grind Tidus' Overdrive till you get Blitz Ace. This will net you good amount of spheres that you don't have to worry about running out, make your Aeons significantly stronger, and will make Tidus a bit strong early game. I don't like the sin scale leveling on the boat, it's a waste of time. Later on in the game you can grind Attack Reels as soon as Luca events is over. 5x cheer + perfect 3's on Attack reels is enough to cheese most bosses, also keep 1 elemental types of weapons you pick or drop along the way for each melee or at least for Auron, Tidus and Wakka.

Tip fir the SinSpawn on the ship. Make sure everyone in your party gets at lest one turn so they can get the massive Experience by the end of the fight.

I try to make sure everybody performs "one successful action" in every battle, no matter how small or ordinary, even versus mobs of three that are designed for specific characters to one-shot (e.g. Flyer [Wakka], Helm [Auron], and Flan [Lulu]). Pray, Cheer, Aim, etc. are great for scoring "successful actions" even when they don't materially contribute to the battle.

@@xheralt I see what you’re saying. But that’s honestly a wast of time. Blow through the game with three consistent party members. Then rotate the weaker ones in once you get to the Omega Ruins. The amount of exp you get in there will get your characters over powered in no time.

Cranston's right. The best OverDrive modes you get just from playing. I mean The one that you get OD bar from Damaging an enemy, killing an enemy and healing an Ally (for sweet lil' old Yuna.). The other ones are garbage with a few good only for exploitation of learning Tidus' Over Drive attacks. Which is more trouble than it's worth really. And I mean using the exploits. Overall these tricks aren't that great really. The killing Sin Spawn FOR the damage an enemy OverDrive is a good one. You should've made a Things to do / not forget on your playthrough. Example: Save different saves at areas throughout the game so you can reload them if you missed an Al Bhed Primer. Good places to train Kimahri skills worth learning Good places to train Aeon affection Best way to get the max affection possible between ALL allies

5:30 if you use 5 cheers as the battle starts you can wipe the sin scales out with wakka tidus and kimahri in shot and often with overkill. Over kill is more important then speed. If you can get an extra strength stat for wakka or tidus every overkill is double exp. Every now and then it will overkill any way with cheer standard stats. The best part of the sinscaling grinding is using slayer to use tidus over drive countless ties for blitz ace.

Expert sphere grid gets you easy access to mana and ability extractor skills early. Yuna and lulu spamming this 1 mp ability until they run of mp can net you a ton of spheres. Tidus gets a Speed Distiller weapon on drop in besaid as well. Sinscales drop Power spheres, so you can max out your stock of all 4 spheres ez

The only issue with the sinscale grind is that they dont drop alot of the other sphere besides power so you end up getting stuck on a node that need the other sphere after progressing your characters on the sphere grid.

Well, you can get ability sphere distillation from Wakka, and if you get a drop with speed distillation on a weapon you can get that too. I have 99 speed and ability right now. Though I'm further than that in the game. I'm at chapter 4.

You don't need a turbo controller. I did this as a kid. Find a cave where you can kill every enemy without risk of being attacked. Wad up some tape and put it on the X button and tape it down firmly so it stays pressed. Then just flip the controller upside down so the joystick runs you into a wall. Do it over night while you sleep and get insane xp. Repeat in a better area when your stronger and you'll be maxed out in no time.

Anyway you could put in the fact that the best place to train in early-mid-game is the Highbridge? The bridge before you go into the Via Purifico? You get 5-10k from the battles.

@@fakename503 eh, maybe later midgame. the only way it feels really midgame to me is if you're counting all the side/postgame content too. sure as fuck ain't early, without including the postgame content, and that's extra. that's beyond late game. hence why that sort of thing is generally referred to as 'postgame content'. kinda feels like claiming the final boss is 'midgame' in a star ocean title, just because there's like 20 hours of postgame after that. doesn't really make much sense to me, but you define the shit your way, i guess. makes sense for disgaea, i'll give you that. otherwise it's basically the two trials, calm lands, gagazet, zanarkand, sin - the point in the game where it's basically a zerg rush of 'fuck it, let's get to the end of this shit already!' to compare, the stuff before was zanarkand, baaj temple, besaid, cloister, trip to killia, killia, cloister, blitzball stuff, highroad, mushroom rock stuff, battlegrounds, post battlegrounds, cloister, before the river, river BS, guadosalam, farplane, thunderplains, crystal forest stuff, ice plains fight, cloister, enemies of yevon stuff, desert, home, and finally the wedding. and allll the story heavy stuff that comes with all that. not that underwater date isn't the longest fucking thing outside of a xenosaga game or that mt gagazet and zanarkand and sin bits don't have decent cutscene time too... putting it another way, you can have the 'aga' level spells and basically the second to last push of skills for the characters before they're basically done with their own spheregrids, without too much grinding, and that's not exactly 'early midgame'. additionally, you can just wait until a little bit later - calm lands and capture weapons present a perfect time to level grind some, especially if you want to get a head start on all that capturing, and mt gagazet's probably where you start to need it... or just, literally any point in the journey, given save points are plentiful and are full heals.

In the very beginning, after you autograph the Blitz Balls, if you talk to any of the 2-3 static npc’s at the right time (you can probably just wait) a girl in a pink shirt will run up and just stop momentarily. You can initiate a short interaction over her needing a ticket and she gives you x3 Potions in the end. It may seem obvious, but I’ve missed it and I comb every game thoroughly. I just found it an hour ago lol. 🤘🏻❤️

Man, I usually ignore minor support skills, but after playing and completing (Every Celestial Weapon except Waka and Kimahri) FFX several years ago I started appreciating them a lot. Now I know why I could never beat the final boss in FF 9. I didn’t know or appreciate support and resistance type spells and equipment. I thought I could power through…nope lol. Looking back I missed so much. I’m going to play it after I finish FFX again.

Another early ability set to get early on is firaga + thundaga + blizzaga + waterga. Using kimahri Ronso travel into Wakka's grid using a level 1 key and go to the right till you get to the level 2 lock point. Using the first level 2 key you can find enter into the right part of the grid. Then you will have access into the later game black magic abilitys. They might have changed it in later copies of the game but it's completely overpowered in the earlier copies and emulator copy's. Have fun with Kimahri ssj!

With the sinscale grind, just bring Yuna and Lulu in once to defend for a turn and then bring Wakka and Kimarhi back in, that way everyone gets exp and you can still one shot every enemy. Also, unlock the Slayer overdrive mode for Tidus before hand, that way you can easily unlock Slice and Dice if you haven’t already got it, or Blitz Ace if you have.

For the Gui Grinding part, I'll try to have Yuna/Lulu at the ra spells, Fira at least, and i'll just grind them for overkills until their both out of mp before continuing. Its good for 30ish sphere lvls without a lot of time investment in the fight.

5:00 if you that part early wakka doesnt get experience before the ship battle. It doesnt help rikku either. Steal a few grenades and scam some potions then move on to training with wakka to get slayer in the under water section then further trainings for haste before the ship. If you got the slayer already for tidus with this fellows awesome tips you now have tidus and wakka with str and can use cheer 5x for over kills and haste is just cream on the cake.

Don't forget that Valefor's second Overdrive is much more powerful than her original Overdrive as well as more beautiful to behold too. Depending on how you build up your Aeons and Yuna Valefor can actually become much more OP than Bahamut as well.

Just as a little addition to the Sinscale grinding on the ship to Kilika, get Yuna to do Extract Ability a lot so you have loads of ability spheres at the end of the fight

eh, kinda feel like it's better to just have the melee people out cheer'd 5x to one shot them for days - if you get into that rythm of your allies getting three turns, killing the last one standing, three are summoned, killing two, then the last one charges - it's a beautiful thing. you can always dick around with extract ability while tooling around kilika.

Hey if ya didnt talk to the dog you come back qnd up by the temple theres an npc on the left before temple. Talk to her and she gives you what the dog was supposed too. Hope that helps. 😎👍🍻

Here's the best tip on PS4 ever! 😏 To soft reset the game hold L1 L2 R1 R2 and hold X, Pad, then hit the opinions button. This will save you a few menus instead of closing the game and reloading a save. 😃

@@jessewalters811 there are a few reasons for it, like if an enemy drops the wrong item, if you know you are going to die it can save time, catcher chocobo race, first time jecht shot, Luca Blitzball tournament or personally I find it useful on PC when I'm high graphical load testing retexture mods before releasing them.

Overdrive modes can be earned at any point in the game, but each mode has a different prerequisite that varies for each character. Loner wants you to spend turns with only one character in battle, and Slayer wants you to have a character kill a certain amount of enemies. Look up the specifics if there's a character you want to give a certain mode

For the most part overdrives work like enemy skills did in prior Final Fantasies, have the characters witness the condition for the modes enough and they'll get it, besides Comrade is amazing for late to post game shenanigans

I just bought a turbo cable controller to let my party fight sinscales overnight. I rather do that and be 99. That way I can focus on the game story and OP everything in my path. 😏

Bummer alert: I just got the first 2 over drives than died instantly in the 3 in front 2 in back enemy encounter.... I thought I would be ok because "you dont actually get attacked" but you do, just one time. Lol

I was seriously wondering if manually farming over drives on sinscales with tidus was worth cause it seems like it is. Energy rain guarantees over kills which gives you the AP bonus and while using slayer it immediately builds the over drive gauge back up.

Boat fight: OR, you could have Yuna & Lulu do one action each, swap to the boys, and AP farm for the WHOLE GROUP... Why didn't you mention that?? Why only build up 3 characters?

Free items that you can get 99 of for 10k gil? Omg! Id spend an hour grinding out 99 potions at the beginning of the game when I can get that in one item drop in gil and then some by spherimorph! Totally worth sinking that hour and a hlf into at the beginning for items Ill literally never use!

There are a few chests you can miss. Like in the area beneath the Shiva temple. You have to get those immediately. There are also a few things that you can get at anytime, but with more difficulty. Like if you miss the treasure in a cloister. To re enter you'd have to fight a dark aeon. Which can be difficult.

cheer caps at 5 uses but yea it gives more defence and attack so for the infinite respawn fights helps alot

the only thing here that's tedious really would be getting haste for the sinscale grinding the rest are quick and easy and no gain? valefors 2nd overdrive has a damage multipler that makes it as strong has bahamuts (it just cant break damage limit until you get the correct celestial weapon), the overdrive modes make getting blitz ace before kilika stupidly easy and fast. only one with no real gain would be getting reflect so early but eh.

@@Primalliquid92 Primalliquid I see where you're coming from. Putting in the work early on is probably the closest anyone can get to a new game+ feel. Just not for me. It's kind of like before you part ways with Rikku, you can grind out a few lvls, max on grenades and potions. But why? Outside of the dark aeons and penance this game is dumb easy anyway.

the game is easy even counting the dark aeons and penance, although i have no lifed the game to the point i could 100% it in my sleep so i guess its not very fair for me to comment like that haha although when it comes to RPGs one of the most fun things to me is breaking them as much as possible as early as possible. Im the sort of guy who gets all limit breaks in midgar in ff7, endgame junctions on ff8 before ifrit, robe of lords and 99 frogs on ff9 disc 1 (Im also the idiot who on the 13-2 demo grinded the characters upto level 99 and the postgame boss in the demo)

You can get all Level 1-3 Limit breaks for Cloud,Aries,Barret,Tifa and Red XIII in Midgar. quite clearly i was only talking about them and not on about yuffie, vincent, cid and cat sith

@@Primalliquid92 I never played a 13-2 demo, but I did level 99 all the characters in the Episode Duscae demo for Final Fantasy XV. I probably played the demo for like over 100 hours or something ludicrous like that back when it first came out. (I also paid $79.99 CAD for Type-O JUST to get the demo. I barely ever bothered to actually play Type-O afterwards. Though I probably will eventually.) I also max leveled all of the characters in 13. I spent nearly 300 hours in FFXIII on Steam years ago by the end of my playthrough. The longest I've ever played on an RPG before, probably. I haven't done those other things. Though at this point the only FF games I've beaten so far are 8, 13, and 15. I'm working on my first playthrough of FFX on PS4 right now. I will probably eventually beat FF7 on PC with mods at some point. But I've got a lot of new games I bought this month I'd like to play first.
