Soken is really a fantastic Composer, really loves working with Chromatic mode. For us players who experience this on a second to second basis, every beat, every tense string is felt tenfold, and he knows that.

Final Fantasy XVI music is so good. Not to mention it goes along with some of the most epic boss battles I’ve ever seen in a video game

this track is SO underrated. Everyone has different feelings about the boss, i might just be bias because he's my all time favorite summon/primal but with the way he acts in this game, his music is a perfect fit for him here.

'Relentless anxiety' is the crux of this battle. While fighting this pious megalomaniac, you continue to feel like you're going to lose! He's faster, stronger, crazier, and you cannot take even a second of respite the entire time. Up until this point in the game, there was no other boss battles in which you really struggle just to stay alive. Many boss battles in FF16 are visually striking and fun to play, but no one frightened me to the core like this human-shaped terror: Barnabas Tharmr. I may have killed him in that battle, but somehow I feel like he ultimately defeated me.

This music doesn't just reflect the tension and anxiety of the fight, but the joy and excitement Barnabas is experiencing as he's finally enjoying himself for the first time in decades as he's finally found someone who can match him. It's why the music is both dark, anxiety-driven and menacing while at the same time very high and joyful, while also quite sorrowful since Barnabas is a tragic character (like everyone in Final Fantasy XVI). Favourite piece from the game by far.

FF 16 music fits the epicness of LotR sounds. Theres so much great stuff in this game I listen to on a regular basis. All for One. Ascension. Catacaucamene. Heart of Gold. And so much more.
