i mean remake put super hard work into cutscenes while advent children is just cg. look at the cutscene where sephiroth appears, that probably takes a lot of hard work. unless its a movie or video file, which just requires cgi and a budget anyways advent children and remake's scenes are all super good

If you can see so little difference between the two, You probably really struggled to tell the difference between the 1998 godzilla film CGI and the 2014 godzilla CGI.

@@blackmage665 I never said I can't tell the difference, silly. I said one is barely any better than the other. That's because both have their strengths over the other. Textures and shadows in remake are superior because of the better render capacity. But AC has more fluent body motion, cinematography, better facial expressions and more convincing backgrounds. That's because they are not forced to use models and pre-renders, and are not using limited by player camera. Both are fantastic, but for 2005 AC is just legendary. Remake has just average graphics for their time.

@@mitromney I'm not going to agree with any of your points outside of the fact that this DID look good for 2005, BUT: Even if what you said was true, you have to know that there's a HUGE difference between an entirely shot and choreographed film that has no deviations and you only need the models to do specific actions, can hide model problems in editing and redoes, and had a budget that ONLY goes to the making of said film, compared to: A Game whose budget goes to much more than just animation, on probably less money than AC got, using in game models which requires actual coding to perform all actions properly, with those models not just being a moving image but essentially a puppet for the player that sometimes does reprogrammed things. It's the difference between a big budget movie from 2005 and a live studio TV show being shot now. I would also like to remind you that the only reason the graphic we see are considered average is because this was made for consoles, not PC, though we might get a port of it down the road. And even then, the polygons used in character models for Remake are probably higher or at the same level as those in the movie, but are just cheaper to make now.

The Facial animations and textures here are so flat and bland compared to remake.. There is litterally less strands of hair in advent children.. the polygon count has to be lower in advent they look so porcelin.. especially around the lips... barely any emotion from the facial capture besides the occasional creepy growing eye from barret or off putting smile from sid.. The eyes look so much more dated and lifeless..The desaturated colors.. the crappy costumes.. The nonstop overtop action with annoying editing.. You are straight up high if you claim advent looks better

It was cool seeing them in live action though but that was the entire appeal and it's surface level enjoyment at most. I respect your opinion though so not hating on ya.

This movie, as much fun as it was, is REALLY bad at telling its story, and its dialogue in english OR japanese is bad and so concise that it doesn't fit the characters. Geostigma is a really lame mcguffin, as is the jenova piece. the little bit of the old caster we see is just fan service, arguably not even good fan service. Aerith and Zack are so diluted from who they are that these images would distort the characters in other mediums. I've watched this movie more than a few times, but honestly, if it wasn't a final fantasy 7 movie, it would have been dumped and forgotten almost immediately. Even with people who know the games lore and story, this is clearly a rush job on the script.

LMAO You do know Matrix's choreography and world building is inspired by Asian products, particularly Ghost in the Shell and Chinese martial art films? The choreographer is Eastern Asian and the Wachowskis have always been vocal about their anime influence. Nomura didn't need their influence. Also I take Advent Children over those pieces of trash called Matrix 2 and 3. To say Matrix 1 has aged well is debatable. It was mind blowing on first watch but it loses all magic thanks to crappy sequels.

yeah, the overall lightning is still better on advent children, but models, textures, and everything esle looks better on the remake, it's incredible, an it only will get better as the next parts of the remake will be on ps5,

I really like the smoothness of the cgi as compared to ff7 remake, i think it is just as good as ff7 remake not any less than it at all, maybe even more believable than the remake. Advent children was really good for its time wouldnt be suprised if you tell me that it was made in 2012

I actually bought a replica of the fusions sword that cloud uses it’s very heavy so, I don’t really mess around with it much, but it was very expensive to buy, but it was definitely worth it and it does come apart like it does in the movie.

Yeah me too. I know that advent children is a sequel 3 years after the events of FF7 so we dont even know when did cloud began to use the fusion swords but hopefully in part 2 or part 3 of the remake, square will consider to include the swords as dlc.

fusion sword Omi Slash will definitely need to be in the remake... it would be criminal for SE not to consider that opportunity.

@@munkengfoo7862i wonder why so many people still missed out on the all the hints shown in the OG between Cloud and Aerith when they literally are brought up left, right, front, back and centre. Childhood friend is not a strong indication that romance can happen. Even if the making love scene did happen (though it was scraped out in the OG later on) but it still doesn’t mean the romance is there. In AC, it feels like Tifa and Cloud gave a more sibling bond more than a couple. Well, I digress.

I would say yea it’s weird for it to happen in normal situations but in a fight it’s quite believable since they are exerting themselves against an enemy. I find movies where people just talk while trying to kill each other weird lol, I mean would anyone really split their focus to talk trash or answer an enemy in a life or death situation, I wouldn’t lol.

Even the final fight is different from the english version, in the japanese, cloud was doing the omni slash to sephiroth(without his wing yet) but just appears out of nowhere when he was defeated. In the english version, there was a quick scene of sephiroth's wing appear.

You were watching the original version of the movie. They would release an extended version a couple years after they released the original which included new scenes, new music (including a longer Sephiroth fight and bike chase)

The original, titled Final Fantasy Advent Children, was released in 2005 in Japan. The remake is titled Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete 2009 with tweaks in color, detail. Add some scenes. And it is the general version, regardless of English or Japanese.

And sephiroth did’t hit cloud on the air like this
