You already won the moment you went through that door and Made him Laugh. That's a godly achievement already! He's one of the top people I wanna meet before I die. His music really made a great impact on my life. I listen to nothing but orchestral video game music during my spare time.

I met Nobuo when he came to Chicago 5 years ago for a concert. He came to my college for a Q&A, and he’s such a humble guy. When they said the Q&A was ending soon he asked to extend it 30 more minutes to get everyone’s questions in. His passion is infectious!

He's the best of the best. He is the reason video game orchestra tours exist. He may not be the only legendary composer in gaming, but he is *The One* to Yoko Shimomura's *Trinity* and Koji Kondo's *Morpheus*

@@AkashiXI there was suppose to be a distant world show at montreal just like an Hatsune Miku show. My dad was about to by the tickets for miku and knowing that I would've asked him for Distant world. I mean it was a chance to maybe meet Nobuo Uematsu! But stupid Covid ruined it...

I've met this man several times and I'm honoured he remembers me (he likes my hair!) They say you should never meet your heroes, but after meeting with him, I find that phrase holds no weight. A truly lovely man!

shimsok shim It's an old saying. That's cuz sometimes people think their "heroes" are absolutely awesome people, who can do no wrong... and when they meet them they actually are just human like yourself and have lots of flaws (or just be complete jackasses) - that stuff usually doesn't show up in video or their work. So it's very disappointing. Imagine if Nobuo was a dick here instead of this cool old guy - the guy would be crushed.

I met Nobuo Uematsu by a complete accident once when I attended an FF11 Fanfest. A couple friends and I were completting one of the challenges and forgot the way back to the conference room. We ended up going out an opened emergency exit to walk around to the front of the hotel to get back to the lobby. Long and behold, he was on the side of the building taking a break from the meet and greet and smoking a cigarette. It wasn't a ground shattering experience mainly because he was taking a break and we didn't want to impose and make ourselves seem like obsessive fans. Later on, he saw us during our makeshift server wars and he signed our Carbuncle server banner.

Best random click I've had in awhile. Love this reaction of his. And one thing about Uematsu, is that he is very honest. If he doesn't like something, he's not afraid to say so. Uematsu-san is a living legend, i loved all my life his music, even today after more than 20 years i'm still replaying Final Fantasy games and enjoying the epic music. Thank you Nobuo Uematsu for all the music you gave us in all these years! A really nice and humble person, you were so lucky to meet him in person!

Since I was a kid Mr.Uematsu's compositions has teached me so much about music harmony and structure. I still study his work and I am still amazed by it. The fun thing is that he does things which is not recommended according to western music theory.

Speaking of favorites, I dream of asking him what his favorite Dragon Quest music is, and Mr. Koichi Sugiyama about his favorite Final Fantasy song... Kabukin, now all you need to do is to slide your way into playing the drums on FF7 Remake soundtrack, haha! I would love to hear FF7's battle (boss) themes with some "heavy metal" drums. I can't wait to play it in 2025!

This video fucking kicks ass. Dude got to meet a hero of his and see the reaction to his take on the music. Icing on the cake is getting offered free tickets by the man himself to his show at the end. I'd say the dude was on cloud 9 after.
