Wow, Final Fantasy IV has gone through quite a few changes since it's original 1991 release on the SNES, hasn't it?
This video compiles all of the CG and voice-acted cutscenes in the more recent releases of the game. The introductory CG video was taken directly from the PC release, and the real-time 3D cutscenes were all recorded from the DS version (with HEAVY upscaling and filtering to clean the image up). The CG cutscene from the original PlayStation port follows the ending, and at the very end of the video is the CG cutscene from the PC version of Final Fantasy IV The After Years.
This took a good amount of effort to get the material compiled and in good quality, so I hope you enjoy it. I felt like it was worth the investment - FFIV is one of my all time favorite games.

Damn the nostalgia is real on this one. I was 13 years old when I first started playing this on my DS. I remember despite the graphics I fell deeply in love with the characters and storyline which is why even now as a grown adult, I keep on coming back. Still hoping that they would remake this game. This game is one of the most underrated.

Same, but with the GBA version on an emulator. It was the first FF I’ve ever played, thanks to my first love who introduced me to it. This and FF IX will always hold a special place in my heart :)

I love these comments. I grew up in the 90s and first played FFIV (the original version) on a Snes emulator on a computer/labtop, so it warms my heart that the following generations experienced the same stories and the same nostalgia revisiting them! FFIV to FFX was the series high point imo. A seven game run of pure quality.

I hope they remake this, I wanna know Golbez's story on how or what he grew up into. I like Kain's voice, it fits him very well, Cecil's too.

They touch on that in the sequel. You find out that Cecil’s mother died during childbirth and that Golbez felt anger and resentment towards his infant brother. When he was a child, he started hearing voices (Zemus) telling him he was right to feel the way he did and that Cecil killed their mother.

The voice acting is pretty good. The guy that plays Kain is Liam O'Brien, and is a personal favorite of mine. He's really good at playing moody, troubled characters. The guy that plays Cecil is Yuri Lowenthal, who recently played Spider-Man in the recent game. Probably some more actors I know, but it's been a while since I've played this.

Ayveh, you hate old graphics, but the thing is the old sprites stand the test of time far better than polygons have. Graphics do not make the game though, the story telling, the replay value, the music, the control, these are the key ingredients to a great game. A game can be as beautiful as can be with shiny graphics, but if these ingredients are missing, and the game plays like total dogshit, then the graphics are meaningless.

@John Syzlack Rydia is depicted as both a child and an adult at different points in the game(she grows up within the course of the game's setting). He's specifying he would be attracted to the adult Rydia, not the child.

I like FF4 so much 😍 the story + characters. When i first time play this game, the most memorable is when rydia comes to help cecil's team and wow she has grown up 🙈

This was my first FF game. My cousin found some kid's cassette and let me try it. I just load in and played it. Didn't finish the game tho, so instead I just explored the visited areas for secrets, interesting encounters, games, and the songs made me fell in love.

I grew up in the 80s so I was able to play final fantasy for the nes when it came out. Out of all the final fantasy games I have played. Part 2 for the snes was the best by far. The story. The characters. The gameplay. Everything.

FF4 has to be the one FF game that made me super emotional...From to all these tragedies, to the sacrifices made by characters, to the end where Golbez helps Cecil...Good grief, I cry every dang time... (though I feel like the theme of losing parents hits me even harder now since I've lost my mom - not due to being killed, but bad health)

Currently playing my first run of FFIV Advance via emulator. Came here to get a better visual of the epicness happening in this little 8bit world. :) Oh, and with? They left cid out of the opening cut scene! Should've shown him taking the helm of his ship.

Sunset Shimmer must be inspired by Golbez as both of them were corrupted by hatred and loneliness in their respective debuts. They also feel upset for being consumed with hatred which explains why they lost control of their actions. In their respective sequels, they atone for what they've done and save the world. Sunset Shimmer has saved the world many times than Golbez can count. Seeing the crystal ineffective on Zeromus thanks to Golbez's broken heart reminds me of Psychic-type moves having no effect on Dark-type Pokemon.

It’s a pretty good game. If you want to jump right into the series then I recommend you to play this one first. Any version of the game is fine, except for the original Nintendo release which is known for its glitches and mistranslations.

They went from really fun and unique JRPGs with fun RPG combat to generic hyperrealistic action games because that's what Square Enix seems to think Americans want most. Can't we RPG fans just enjoy our franchises without action loving gamers who hate strategy and numbers coming in and ruining entire franchises for us?

The crappy 3D graphics, tinny music and goofy voice acting made this a total money grab by Squaresoft, who needed endless piles of money to fund Ultrahyperrealtimebattlesausagefest10yeardevelopmentcrappystory Fantasy XV. It was nicer back in the SNES/PSX days when Square made games for RPG gamers and didn't try to rerelease their entire back catalog, remixed with shitty graphics, every other year. I have my original copy of FFIV and that's the one I play. It's kind of like the Beatles re-releasing the same songs over and over with Pitbull remixes every other year just to fund their bank accounts.

Without final fantasy 4 you wouldn't have final fantasy 7 Final fantasy 4 and 7 is about same story Imo final fantasy 4 better story
