Melodies of Life is a wonderful song. Both the original song sung by Emiko Shiratori, as well as the piano version, which is beautifully arranged by Shiro Hamaguchi.
I have always wanted to make a video of Melodies of Life. However, I never tried it as it is very prone to errors for recordings due to the flowing left and right hand.
After playing it for two years from time to time, I now felt comfortable to try it =) Not without difficulties though, as always little mistakes happened while recording, which delayed me for three days. That is, because continuous failed recordings demotivate you for the day after an hour at maximum! Especially, if they happen a few bars before the ending - multiple times .
In this recording, a small mistake also slipped in. But it's not that bad, and I didn't want to try any further. Lets see if you can find it =)

yes. those the sweatest memories i had. Hard to forgot it, the game is super touching....first playing feel weird coz the game character is so cartoon compared to ff8 but as u progress u will become like it.........after ff9 i cant find something thats can even match the quality of this game

handoko tan The guy from the slums that ended up becoming a soldier, the seed mercenary who tried to push everyone away ended up saving everyone, The thief who tried to kidnap the Princess and ended up saving Gaia and the blitz ball player that's been sent to a different world.... Who could forget those?

my fav ff is 9 it was a complete package i wish 15 was like this with the story character build up, the plot twist and so on i wish they just put ffxv in 4 discs and made the last disc open world it would have been like this with greater story line it felt like it was so short to be a final fantasy

Starting up Final Fantasy IX was the most magical moment of my childhood it was a game whom sent an outrageous adventure to do the most insane things! Every moment was full of joy!

jesus I still can not believe that this pianist did not blow up, his playing, the emotion most importantly the control behind the keys; letting the notes do the talking instead of him just simply playing it. Very well done and super underrated pianist.

man i appreciate ffix so much. It literally has changed my outlook on life... i just wish i could express it like you through playing the piano. Instead i have to express my love for it by listening to others' beautiful renditions

i just wanted to update on this, i said i wouldn't give up and i didn't.... i was slow as hell though and worked gradually off and on for two months and can that i have finally learned this song; i wish i had a camera so i can post a video :P it is possible people! :D :D :D

The first 50 seconds is pretty doable but after that seems very, very hard unless your already skilled.

I started playing Final Fantasy during high school. My time and attention were so consumed by playing the game and really analyzing the story. This song brings back memories and the way I feel during those days.

After all these years, I came back here. It is all my childhood memory. At the same time hoping there is a “princess” to live with me in our own fantasy world, listening to this song in the midst of the night with shining stars. Now I have grown up, hoping there is a “queen” that will live with me in this fantasy world. Only world that we build together and have a family. Through the adversity I have faced in real life, deep down I realized that I am still hopeless romantic at heart. Sense of romantic since childhood still lives in my heart. I hope that I will find someone who is the true “queen” for my life. Thanks Final Fantasy IX for filling my childhood with thrilling and prosperous adventure 😊❤

Was 6 when I lost my mother... Was 9 when I received this game. 10 I started learning English, 11 I cried listening to this music (It can describe my feeling towards her). 25 years since she passed, 23 years since this game launched... I still feeling it reaching out to me. Forever Special.

Those sounds have comfortable rhythms and breaths, so it seems as if it is a part of an original soundtrack. Arkton, I love this! Not just because your playing is beautiful as always but because of what you said. I'm learning this tune now, and I've only been playing a few years, self taught, and without sheet music, so I have some awful habits. I've played a few of the FF tunes, and always make so many mistakes whether recording or not. I get so down when I keep messing it up and it really sucks the fun out of it. Now that I know that even the best players out there can feel this way, it makes me fee
