V is the most underrated ff hands down. It may not have had an epic story like 6 and 7 but it more than made up for it with its wit charm and of course its bangers.

Well, at the very least it contained probably the most badass scene in FF series. FFV Pixel Remaster can't come soon enough... Which is obviously Galuf sacrificing himself to drive away Exdeath, tanking every single spell the villain throws at him, still fighting at 0 HP.

I always thought that this battle theme sounded a lot like the battle theme in "Tales Of Phantasia". That battle theme might have been inspired by the FF5 battle theme.

Unfortunately I agree. FFV, along with Type-0, are the most underrateds.

I hope to see a remake of it one day. If they just make the characters a little more interesting and find more ways to engage people with the story I think it could become of one of the hall of fame Final Fantasy games.

@@KunningFox man!!! I remember the first time I got to that part in my GBA and it still hurts! I really, really love FFV a lot, the characters, the humour, the story being grand but not that grand as six, tho, the jobs system, i really want them to make a proper remake, with some tweaks here and there! LOL really liked that the party was mostly female, like, they can kick ass too!!!

Of course. Lenna was always the obvious white mage. I also made her a summoner mix. Or even a ranger. And then had her call animals to aid instead of using her attack. She is basically the FF1 white mage stereotype. Bartz fits the fighter knight samurai mystic knight type. Faris fits the thief ninja monk. Galuf fits the knight (and later for Krile the red mage) and Lenna fits a white mage or black mage or summoner.

@@cirnoe1484 I never used necromancer. And based on her personality she'd never fit the job. Nobody in the party would. It was just a bonus job for the Gameboy advance version. I suppose Faris would be a Cannoneer but the job itself doesn't make sense. They just summon a literal cannon? Never used it either. Gladiator is like a next level fighter type class though but I could only see Bartz using it and even then doesn't really suit him.

Beautiful, just beautiful and full of energy. That is what I love about the FF5 battle theme it is just has that nice happy feel to it. Doesn't sound like battle.

+SuperDuperCooper08 Haha awesome, I recently went to a FF Piano concert and am just hunting FF tracks to listen to whilst I work. There was only 1 from FF5 which was Dear Friends so craving some tracks from 5. Clash on the big bridge would have to be my favourite track from 5 with Faraway Hometown coming a close second.

I don't know if you'll read this and I'm not usually a fan of chiptunes converted to symphonic, but this is fantastic. You didn't miss a single detail in instrumentation or, even more oft ignored, volume balance.

The SNES sound chip doesn't feel like chiptune to me, probably due to the heavier use of samples compared to the genesis.

This had been my favorite rendition of this theme for forever. But I gotta admit the Pixel Remaster version just tops it. Still a fantastic rendition. And a good decade before the PR one as well.

Fun fact: FFIV was developed primarily for NES first, but near the end of it's development, it was converted to be an SNES game instead.

I have no idea why it took me so long to respond to this... What I mean is that the loading times themselves for the PS1 version is painfully long just get the file loaded and with how much more difficult that version is it can get very annoying. While the other SNES square games can take a little bit it's nothing too bad. Gameplay wise Four is the shortest because the two other worlds are much small and have not nearly the same amount of sidequests Five and Six do.
