Major kudos for this series. Binge watched throughout the whole week. Had many laughs, and your inputs are all on point. My 1st FF, has a special place in my heart. You did tremendous justice to it in my books.

HA it's funny how we both come to the Defend solution for Terra Break the first time playing this game without guide many people tend to forget about it (it wasn't a very know strat back when I first fight him). And GG that was an intense fight ^^ Quick Notes : -Judging for your LV he was LV57 so that's 692945HP -Lion Heart does 17 hit so that's 169983 damage

This is my favorite version of Omega in the series I just love his design. Congrats on beating him without any cheap tactics like invincibility or The End limit break. I beat him back in the day the fair way and it was a great feeling! In the original ps1 version when he's always level 100 he has 1,161,000 health so he's definitely not a pushover. Again great job! :D

Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for the playthrough on this. Your commentary is always top notch and I enjoy your Final Fantasy videos beyond words. But this one has always had a special place in my heart and seeing you go through it without resorting to breaking the game or cheesing stuff was really heart warming to say the least. You're definitely my favorutie internet personality and I wish you could just replay this game over and over, haha. But like with FFX, FF9 and now FF8; eventually one does run out of things to do in the worlds and it's always a bittersweet farewell until the memories fade a bit and you can replay them again in a few years. Nice job on figuring out Omega Weapon. Quick reminder that this Omega's level is scaled to yours. That's not the case in the PS1 version though! There Omega will always be on level 100 regardless what level your characters are. And it's still possible to beat him in a low level challenge run with very good junctions.

After a few failed attempts at Omega, the thing that really helped me is to slow down the battle speed to its minimum. I guess Omega's level must scale with the party too because I remember a much longer battle. I got at least 7-8 lionhearts in before it went down. Loved the playthrough, looking forward to FFXIII-2!

Once more, glad you showed how you finally got around to beating it - wouldn't feel like Omega Weapon battle without all the failures and game overs whether it be due to the odd enemy attack timing (RIGHT ? Thought I was the only one who thought that this game is freaking rigged when Omega just proceeded to attack me back-to-back), or our own fault as the player because of losing our cool lol I used to be so shit at this game (still kinda am though but that's not the point here..) that I had to resort to Selphie's The End spell the first time around just to see what was beyond this fight lol because the PS1 version features Lv 100 Omega all the time, so I got desperate there XD However, my actual strat when beating it brute force style involves Squall (for Lion Heart of course), Quistis (for Shockwave Pulsar / Mighty Guard pretty much), and Selphie (for Full Cure whenever the opportunity shows itself) and I traded Bahamut's Card for 100 Megalixir and go Aura party lol but even though I went for a rather defensive approach, it's funny that for the life of me, it never occured to me to use Defend command lol I had to use the GFs as living shields everytime I anticipate Terra Break coming. Oh well, all's well that ends well, they say xD Massive thank you for doing this series ! It _is_ sad that it's ending, but I expect much better stuffs coming in the future ! I'll be around but just not as active since I tend not to comment unless it's something I *absolutely* love lol Good luck, and Best wishes !! :D

Back when i played this on PS long ago I defeated Omega using holy wars refined from, I think The Gilgamesh card and casting triple auras with Zell Squall and Rinoa. Very nice work!

Congrats mate, that was really one challenging fight. I for myself cheesed out a little on it and used Holy Wars and Renzokuken spam :P

Outstanding battle! To this day, for me, Omega Weapon is still the King of the superbosses of the entire golden age of the JRPG (FFVI-FFX, Legend Of Legaia, The Legend of Dragoon, Wild Arms, Valkyrie Profile, etc.). And I'm so glad you used a well thought strategy instead of the cheap Invincible strategy to beat it. In my case, I remember using the Zombie-Protect and the GFs as shield strategies. I was so flipping proud when it went down. Those were the days, man! In any case, congrats and thank you again for the good journey! And welcome to the league of Omega Weapon killers lol

FF8 has always been one of my favorite games behind X and X-2 (massively under rated. Do a full 100% playthrough and X-2 is guaranteed to surprise you). I may be a bit strange but I actually play my own games along with your commentary despite already played all FF multiple times. Totally looking forward to playing/watching FF13-2 next!

You know me and how much I enjoy talking, so let me celebrate the wrap-up of this series one last long comment. :P At this point, I can only thank you for the amount of work, research, time and love you have put into this series, and for how well you have treated your viewers all along. Heck, it always made me super happy to get an email saying, "dangs08 liked your comment!" You make me feel like I matter, like I'm not just talking to a wall, and that's awesome. It took you long to figure the game out sometimes, but it was a very organic experience. I prefer this to someone acting as a know-it-all who thinks that, if you aren't a pro at this game, you suck. I'm sorry to say I won't join you for FF13-2 just yet, but I will be following FF9 and FF13 as I keep pushing through those games slowly but surely. Same goes for the FF8 episodes related to the optional GFs, which I skipped, and Portal 2. And also, as a side note you may or may not care about... you inspired me to buy Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, so I'll hopefully play those soon, as they arrived yesterday! If I do, you can be sure I'll watch your take on them too, because I have absolutely NO idea about what I'm getting into. I'll need some master classes from your videos to suck less at them. The reason final fantasy doesnt have many time traveling titles is because square had the chrono trigger around the same time which is mainly based on time traveling ideas.

Forget about protect or shell. Squall should just spam Renzokuken non-stop, so who cares if he dies. Just keep him at low HP and spam. The other 2 should just survive and revive Squall. If you have Zell instead of Irvine, then try to throw in a few limit breaks too, and perform the "armagaddon fish combo" (google what it is), it has potential to do even more damage than Lionheart and can potentially end the fight in 2-3 turns. Or if you are just really frustrated and feel like beating Omega without putting any effort (ie: semi-cheating method), you always have the option to card mode Laguna card for 100 hero and use those to keep yourself invincible during the whole fight.

That was an excellent battle! And I loved how you kept all your failed attempts in there too! You really did take us through the whole process with you and the sense of satisfaction I feel right now is amazing! :D I'll admit that FF13 was not my favourite installment in the series - mostly because I struggled to form any kind of attachment to the characters and I found the plot and all its unusual terminology quite difficult to get my head around. However, I would be delighted to stick with you and give 13-2 a go! Also - I'm sure you are not lacking for possible games to play in future, but just in case! - I would highly recommend the Trails in the Sky series followed by the Trails of Cold Steel series. Of course, this would be a massive undertaking as each game is huge! But I know you appreciate a deep and engaging story, and I know you won't be disappointed!

I really enjoyed the walkthrough dude! It was an impressive victory versus omega, even though lion heart carried you slightly :D FF8 is such a flawed game, and I have so many complaints about it, but it's still one of my favorites for whatever reason. I really enjoyed that you tried to not use too many broken mechanics through most of the game, which reminded me of my first playthrough when I was 12 and bearly spoke any english (and didn't really understand the junction system that well because of it). 13-2 is far from my favorite final fantasy story wise, but it is an enjoyable game, and I'll gladly follow another series of yours. Keep up the awesome work my dude!

Fantastic series and a job well done! Would you possibly consider a Final Fantasy Tactics Walkthrough with commentary in the future? Just a suggestion. The story is fantastic and the gameplay is strategic. Most likely the greatest 'spin-off' FF title and yet sorely unknown and underrated.

Really enjoyed the play through good work on omega have you considered trying ozma from ff9 i think you would really enjoy the challenge.

I finally beat this asshole today. Last night was my first couple attempts and I struggled so hard with keeping up with him. I spent too much time healing and reviving rather than attacking. This is what worked for me: 1. Squall (lv100), Zell (lv55~), Irvy (lv65~). 2. Demolition and fast ammo. I had 100 each but I didn't even use all of it. 3. Lionheart (although I only got the finisher 2x...) 4. Defend on Zell and Irvy 5. Auto-protect on Squall + super high vitality (he survived Terra Break on this combination alone. I was shocked!!) 6. Since Squall was at lv100, I was able to junction 100 firaga to HP + HP80% to get 9999 HP. This freed up his 99 Full Life stock. Zell had revive but it was helpful to have a 2nd person reviving to full HP. 7. Mega-elixirs 8. MELTDOWN!!! 9. Spd-J & spd+60 10. YOU CAN SURVIVE TERRA BREAK WITH HIGH VITALITY, AUTO PROTECT AND FULL HP. I used defend as fast as I could for the other 2 right after gravija and then had Squall use Recover on himself immediately. Terra Break didnt stand a chance. 11. 100 Deaths to status defense for Squall since he's at lv100 to survive lv5 Death. I wanna try again with everyone at lv100. Apparently Omega in the Remaster takes the average of your party's level?

Actually the thing regarding the speed stuff is a weird stuff in the IA of every ennemies in this game for some reasons in the IA script of every ennemies their is a 33% chance that the ennemy does nothing, that's why sometime an ennemy seems like he act faster and sometime it seems like he doesn't get his turn for a long period of time it's because he just skip his turns by doing nothing (this is apparent on ennemy that can be poison, poison normally hit after any action but on some ennemy they get hit by it without doing anything that's because they use a turn by doing nothing).

Also, I might have remembered wrong, but I think junction 100 x slow to status attack may actually cause Omega to be slowed down, but my memory may not be correct on this one.

The phoenix pinion item you have I believe gives you an all party revive which can happen anytime after that if your party is all dead. Also revive from Alexander is like using full-life. One last thing is aliens abducting cows (if I remember correctly). Take a look at that :)

I can't believe FF10 had the same kind of boss fight at the end as it did in FF8. I still have FF9 & Zodiac age to playthrough as well as FF15. I'm also looking forward to FF16.

Need a Legend of Dragoon Play through

It's a pity you never used the Phoenix Pinion - It's a hidden GF and there was one or two moments in the Omega battle where it would have helped a ton. Either way, it was a great battle and a great playthough.

Here's a stupid question: Does level down work? Also how about Auto Potion with only megalixirs an (mega?)phoenix in item stock?

It took me till 2nd playthrough to figure out how to get holywars and you just shit on him with Reno or get lucky with selphie limit break with her ultimate weapon

8, 9 (in a sense), 10 and 13 all have the time travel on them one way or another. on another topic. its fun to see others like me who saves the "big items" even thou they know its the last boss they will beat on a ff :D

You need rinoa to use that special ability it makes you invincible.

Quistis final limit is bs to get you gotta have siren max lvl and 100 curse spikes to make a dark matter

Loved this walkthrough. Can not wait for XIII-2. Another one of my favorites and one of the most fun FF's to play with all it's monster hunting, time travel, and upbeat OST. It, just like VIII, has an incredible soundtrack. One of the greatest in a video game in my opinion. It's also a gorgeous game just like XIII.

Rinoa limit break is good as she has invincible moon which would help!

This has been a great series. I am so glad you enjoy FF8 and rate it as one of the best as it should be! I know you have lots of games to play and stuff, but kinda disappointed a bit it felt kinda rushed, maybe I just like the series too much? I mean like fighting Malboro, you didn't really beat it but was kinda luck/RNG based and see if your dice rolled well. Like Omega Weapon, I thought if your guys/GF were better your fight could've been easier, I seen video with ppl having all x4 Ability and Auto-haste, it went much smoother. And some sidequest like UFO quest, the 2 hidden summon like Phoenix and Chubby Chocobo. Yes yes, I know this wasn't going to be 100% playthrough but still, those "sounds interesting" to be included I guess, idk maybe is just me. But you still do great in this playthrough and I can't thank you enough for all your effort and time, I really appreciated it, what I said above didn't meant in a bad way but maybe, maybe if you have time you could consider revisit those again just for your own enjoyment. Has no one told dansg how to manipulate the limit break system? I've watched the whole series and I haven't once seen Berk use triangle to reset the player's turn in order to get the limit break. I find it staggering as I thought it was something that everyone just learned immediately. Apart from that, a thoroughly enjoyable series.

You need Holy War. Put simply, make the party invincible, aura squall, and lionheart him. Haste the party. Slow the boss. All of their very top weapons give a new aura power. Rinoas is similar to squalls.
