I remember when I first went into the tomb. I saw this on the wall of the room, and the long hallway, and I got STRONG FF4 flashbacks immediately and went "oh hell no, I know what you are scheming." And man, I was unprepared, because even knowing it was coming, it was a HARD AS NAILS fight!

They've changed the reward chest to 100% Scathe Mote and doesn't respawn anymore

This gave me nightmares as a child but honestly it is one of my favorites bosses, was genuinely so hyped to return to it in the remaster and it definitely holds up

I feel like the best part about final fantasy games are that if you are stuck somewhere or can’t beat something, it’s always a combination of you aren’t looking hard enough, you aren’t strong enough, or your strategy is wrong.

Why do it that way instead of just casting Aero on boss?

@@joshcalef4974 It's an area spell, so casting it directly would only hit once because the Demon Wall is one target. However, casting in on your party causes it to hit every party member before being reflected, so it instead hits 3 or 4 times!

I'm playing this game for the first time so I had no clue about this optional boss fight, I just grinded a lot at the lhusu mines and got here lv26 and won. lol.

Oh man, 1st time I played this was with no memory card, I wiped 2 times on this boss not knowing it was optional and had to start over, 3rd play through I grinded to ridiculous lvs to get past lol

All I did was equip everyone with argyle armlets (so no blind), did a 9 hit quickening chain (which took off like a good two thirds of its health), only casted reflect on one person while aero was casted on them and just had everyone else attack normally. Took even less time than this and was super quick. Everyone was around level 20.

I forgot about that strategy, I beat it once on the original but when I played the remaster I couldn't for the life of me remember how to beat the first wall.

More nightmare fuel and very challenging fight. Pretty much every fight against the Demon Wall in the series is equal to 'time attack or die'.

I'm pretty sure it's either an early copy(some youtubers get early copies of some games)or it's just showed off gameplay

I remember looking at one of my party members being afflicted with X-zone and thinking huh…there’s no item that fixes that is there. Luckily being cast into the void is temporary :-p

In the PS2 version at least 3 characters needs Berserk and all characters Shell. This was the most frustrating boss since i lpay the game. Thx for the help.

My anxiety when the demon wall walks slowly until he reaches the door and crushes you and it’s hard to kill him in first time, I’ve kept doing quickinnings on him until he dies

@@Omega-jg4oq But the first battle is completely optional, only the second Demon Wall (on the opposite room) must be defeated to be able to progress. Didn't you know that? In the second room there's much more time to beat it. And yes, it's a different wall, so killing the first won't make the second not appear.

In case it was not obvious, just interact with the door behind you before you're crushed and it just skips to the second battle (if revisiting, you don't have to beat the second one again)

I know, and with the second one you can turn off some fire or lights to slow it down and you can kill it straight up, I know the first one is optional but still.. that cutscene where he reaches the door and your characters are stuck not knowing what to do and then they died and the Game over screen appears is kinda unexpected and terrifying

Surprisingly, yes. Scathe motes are rare and while they are just one use items... they are free and quick. Scathe motes are the best option to destroy Zodiark once it gets to the last phase of the fight. You may not have the spell at the time and casting it is not as fast as popping the mote.

My party was level 21 to 16 (Vossler 24) and I beat it with ease. I used Quickenings on the optional one and beat the mandatory one with regular attacks.

I came back at lvl 99 and used zodiark just to spite him
