This track was composed by Naoshi Mizuta and another composer. Unfortunately Uematsu didn't compose for this game but the OST is amazing too.

XIII was OKAY. Wasn’t crazy about the story or the gameplay even, (combat felt more on the generic side, kinda like FFIX to me) but the visual presentation and music are honestly what kept me playing. XIII-2 was surprisingly fantastic and a criminally underrated entry in the FF series. That one pulled a 180 on me in terms of how I felt about it. I mean of course I had to change Ashley and Noel’s costumes to the Mass Effect black suits, and I wasn’t crazy about the damn Mog, but beyond that? The game’s music, characters, story were all amazingly well-executed imo, even if I wasn’t crazy about the pacing at times. Most of all, this game’s mechanics and how they were married into the time traveling mechanics of the story (and the larger XIII-2 story) were perfect as far as I’m concerned.

0:13 - 0:21 I played through this game again and hearing this with the cinematic going off ox showing Serah & Noel before panning to the dragons reminded me of why I adore FF13. This trilogy just has a special place in my heart.

Must say despite the low reputation of xiii, this boss is very well designed with the theme. The theme is epic while portraying the power of the almighty gods/bahamut. These 3 bahamuts are also very well designed. Garnet has a pose of extreme savagery ready to throw down, amber has a pose of what alot of Buddhist goddess do, a pose of wisdom seeing how it is more align to magic. While jet strikes the classic crossarm bahamut pose, literally asserting dominance with its overwhelming strength

XIII's low reputation is due to it being a very linear game with a weird combat system, that's all. Music, characters and even story are pretty good.

@@Hollow.Midnight I feel like the whole linear argument is weird because ff10 was just like that, a hallway game with an open world towards the end. The combat system was odd for the time with 13, but then again I found 12's to be even weirder than that tbh gameplay wise. For me they improved upon the combat for 13-2 from its predecessor, however I personally didn't enjoy the story of that one. It doesn't mesh well with the first, thankfully they didn't make the same mistake with Lightning Returns concerning 13-2 and actually made the story make more sense towards it. All in all the 13 trilogy was something I enjoyed and stuck through (pre-ordered all 3 at the time). However I've only ever replayed and actually beaten more than once 13 and LR. That's just my take and experience on it tho

@@hinachan70 I agree with everything you said. I love the XIII-Trilogy and I've played them multiple times. XIII-2's story becomes a mess due to the whole time travel plot, but the combat system was pretty good. I felt like the combat changes they made in LR were unnecessary.

The buildup from 1:38 to 2:03 into this absolute chaos of menacing electronic sounds is the best thing I've ever heard in a final boss theme.

Everything about this game, including this song, makes it the spiritual successor to the Chrono series: this feels like "Dragon God" aka "Omni Dragon Battle" from Chrono Cross, another fantastic final boss theme.

This game was so underrated. I loved pretty much everything about it. Traveling back and forth through time, changing the future and creating branching paths and paradoxes. Then there was that unexpected bitter-sweet ending. SO Good!

When I first saw these guys, I imagined an epic three dragon vs party battle. To my dismay, these guys were taking turns instead of going all out... Ah well.

I remember the first time I reached this fight, I was at Level 50, with badly developed (yet still powerful) monsters, and every time I managed to whittle them down to Jet Bahamut, it would do its countdown and I'd always either end up dead because I didn't Paradigm Shift fast enough, or reduced to low enough health that I couldn't recover. (Either that, or Cactuarama's auto-revive either did or didn't last long enough to matter.) I flat out left this boss and grinded to max level just to up my survivability. Whether I consider this a good final boss or not is best left for a time when I'm not salty about the whole thing.

I had level 99 on most of my roles but this fight still took me a little while. I was never in danger of dying, I just think that my paradigms could have been better. Overall, it was pretty fun and the music added to its epicness.

Sephiroth became nuts because he thought he was Jenova's son. Actually, his father, Dr. Hojo manipulated him while his real mother, Dr. Lucretia Crescent, tried to care for him, but had her son experimented on by Dr. Hojo. Vincent Valentine's story explains this backstory.

The story does get a little lost sometimes, but I was able to follow it pretty well. Time travel stories have a tendency to move in odd circles. Which part of the plot gave you the most trouble?

I love both XIII and XIII-2 The 13 saga definitely has my favorite story, characters, everythang. Yes I've played other FF such as 6, 7, 8, 10, etc. (Only finished 7 and 10 but oh well :P)

+Eduardo Prieto and to add insult to injury Lightning returns story is even WORSE than FF13-2's shitty ending. FF13 just kept getting worse and worse. basically FF13>FF13-2>FF13-3

+heyjeySigma Madness. Lightning Returns story is fairly straight forward, but its substantially better told then anything else in the trilogy. The game itself also is damn close to being the best game in the series, and was the second best JRPG of the generation outside Lost Oddsey.

Calling LR''s story great, and one of the best RPGs in the generation is one of the most ridiculous things ive heard in a long while. it was extremely shallow in every damn aspects. the characters got ruined with little screen time, the whole chaos thing is freaking dumb and sounds like something from a fanfic written by a 15 yr old, the graphics (textures) are the worst in the series, etc. You're giving the game waay too much credit. Lets get real, its a RUSHED game, only produced to milk the series.. and to get thirsty people like you to buy it. the gameplay IS good tho, that's its best redeeming factor. Not gonna lie about that.

heyjeySigma It had excellent game design. Incredibly fun combat. A story which while simple, was incredibly well told. It had a fantastic atmosphere. An incredibly well made world. The chaos thing was absolutely fine and made sense in the universe. And it ended the series excellently. Yes it was 'rushed' in a sense that it is a far shorter game then XIII and XIII-2, but it WAS the best JRPG of GEN 7 outside Lost Oddssey. Nothing else came close, Not XIII or XIII-2, not The Last Story, not Xenoblade Chronicles, not The World Ends With You. Nothing. Lost Oddssey and Lightning Returns both stand as symbols of the quality of both old school and new school JRPG design.

While watching my friend play this battle, I was shaky. It was that intense for me. He managed to beat it the second time around (thanks in part to me noticing the "Counts") The first time, Serah and the monster were taken out by Exaflare *shudder* and Noel only had a little hp left, then Garnet slashed him. For those still having trouble, remember this: WHEN YOU SEE "COUNT: 1", SWITCH TO TORTOISE IMMEDIATLY.

etro is apparently the progenitor of mankind in final fantasy 13, all humans are a piece of her and each one is given a fragment of chaos, this chaos in turn gives them visions, like the ones seen in final fantasy 13, you know, like when sazh's illusion shoots vanille.

how do u said that Caius isnt deserve his villain status ? Caius to me has something in him that makes me like him more than the Icon Sephiroth...His desire to protect Yeul was his motto in his life and he was also in pain due to his guardian power "heart of chaos" if i remember right and in the end it was a burden ...

i'll give the game this, it makes the autocombat function as fast paced and intense as timing a button mash needs to get. seriously, even if you play with the whole paradigm shift and autobattle system alone, this game is geared to making it as intense and difficult as possible. i'm always asking myself "what if he uses gigaflare next? is he gonna heal? are they gonna respawn? how many turns until they do?!" this game is set to ensuring that you get the timing of your plans right.

Why must XIII be hated so much? It's a great game. There is a reason for the linearity. The reason is this: The l'Cie brand is equivilant to a ticking time bomb. If you had a time bomb strapped to your chest, would you waste time roaming around the world or would you follow your path to get it off? I'll let that sink in.

yeah, i was a little lazy on leveling, both characters and monsters, Exa-Flares damage is pretty nuts as it is, but on a low level party, its pretty much death.

Fascinating theme, sadly i could not listen to it, i was quite busy focusing on both Noel and Serah at the time, and my hearing when in such a form, isn't meant to hear the tunes playing in the background, but the heartbeat and breathing of my enemy... Interesting how Noel's Heartbeat was far above it's normal rate... While Serah...she was interestingly...calm at the time.

One Winged Angel, Seymour Final theme, The dark messenger and A battle for Freedom are good too :) But really, One Winged Angel and this are the best.

one faces off with an orphaned demi-god, the child of a goddess. the other faces off with the despairing dragon king whose charge is forced to die over and over for all eternity forcing him to destroy time itself. an entire host of heroes face off with fate irreversible as sacrifice dominates inward potential, inevitably leading to death and despair overwhelming. these three lights in the darkness create the stage for a final fantasy while a god tries to overcome death itself behind the scenes.

but as for the maker, pulse, he's kind of like a brother to etro, both he and the other god, lindzei are trying to manage the universe while their father bhunervelze or whatever, tries to find his mother in the realm of death so that he can put an end to death itself. etro wasn't given any duties because she resembles the mother of bhuner-whatshisname, this caused her to tear herself into pieces with grief, thus creating the humans of ff-13, when she saw them, she gave them all bits of chaos.

I disagree. He nuked Mobliz and people who opposed him. Narshe is completely empty, Figaro Castle was buried, and Tzen is attacked as soon as you enter. He was a tyrant who could only feel joy by causing destruction and misery to others. Whilst society did start to fix itself, healing could only really begin after Kekfa was stopped. I don't remember the details, but I'm pretty sure the destruction of the world wasn't his direct doing. He still caused the statues to F up the world, though.

but at least he wasn't bewildering, we could tell when he flew the coop, we had no such benefit with caius, the guy was bound by duty, and suffering, if that wasn't bad enough we had to see it punctuated mid story with the deaths of multiple yuels every single time. it was especially bad when he was there, gritting his teeth in sorrow and swearing yet another oath amid countless oaths that he surely made to strengthen his resolve.

Says the genotype abomination that had ambitions of hilter's "ultimate race" persona going on. I'm not saying he's bad. I just like Caius's reason better as a villain. Sephy was willing to destroy the world, Cauis was willing to destroy a goddess and time itself to free himself of his curse and be outside of time to spend whatever was left of eternity with only one Yuel. And if got all the endings.....it shows that he freaking won in the end. >:)

To put it simply, ExaFlare equates to: 3 Dragons + 3 MegaFlares = 1 brutally painful death

@DarkDyllon If they added a fourth Bahamut, I would've jumped up and down with joy. It just makes the game that much more challenging and fun for me. Speaking of which, they really toned down the difficulty on this game, didn't they? Compared to FFXIII (the Undying, for example), this is cakewalk.

@LordMalice6d9 The Boss consists of three Bahamut versions. At some point a Countdown will begin. Is one Bahamut alive at the end he will cast Gigaflare, with two alive it will be Teraflare and if all three Bahamuts are still alive you get Exaflare and you are with nearly 100% chance dead (don't know if you still have a chance with tortoise and high levelled characters, might test it out at some point)

Orphan didn't have his shield in his second form because Ragnarok had already shattered it, Orphan was much weaker in its second form. When did I ever say Orphan was stronger then Ragnarok? Stop putting words in my mouth.

after all, what is a better dream than wanting a shining future, and willing to throw down the wicked and evil to achieve that dream? trouble is, his version of "wicked" had been distorted by his madness. it's a shame, because he was one of the most powerful final fantasy heroes in existence before he became a final fantasy himself.....

Caius can't be killed, but that does not mean he can't be incapacitated or overwhelmed. You don't necessarily have to kill someone in order to beat them. Besides, it would be counterproductive for Sephiroth to kill Caius, since his death means the end of the world.

Got the guy on my 3rd attempt. the first two Time's I got caught Napping and he got me With a Power move when I should've been playing Defense...also didn't help that I didn't realise until the 3rd go that the Ebon Seed's could be destroyed to avoid the Damage they cause. LOL

Not really I am not going to argue a lot about it or because I am a "Sephiroth fan" but in a fight Caius would do fairly well and maybe can rival Sephiroth but he cannot kill Sephiroth, remember the only reason Sephiroth loses to Cloud is because: 1. He nevers shows his true powers. 2. Overconfidence etc etc... It was even stated by Square Enix that Sephiroth true powers are unknown, go to the wikia and search it for yourself. Besides Caius cannot be killed but he can be defeated as shown.

screw that they finally created a song that surpasses his theme ive been waiting for something as epic as this. i mean the song creator made the theme with surpassing sephiroths theme in mind doesnt get more epic than that

@zero45Gabriel Uhm, is this really the place to bring up Final Fantasy VII or Sephiroth's theme? I mean sure, this is Final Fantasy territory, but it's Final Fantasy XIII-2. Comparing elements between two games often causes arguments. Sephiroth's theme is amazing, but please watch where you talk about it.

Our party didn't stand a chance against Orphans, doesn't mean they can't try and put up a fight. What makes you think Orphans shield wasn't already there, it explains why Orphan sustained no damage after the first fight and how our party was able to destroy its first form ONLY AFTER Ragnarok broke it's shield. You completely misinterpreted that situation.

Cauis is the better villain because: 1.) His reasons and backstory 2.) His abilties (when you have power of time and ultima under your belt, you're something) 3.) He turns into Bahamut and then into an even badder Bahamut with an arsenal of moves that can utterly destroy if not careful (including the ungodly Terra-flare and without the tortoise shift, it can almost one-shot you.)

sephiroth is the best available example of a good guy gone wrong. countless orphans can relate to wanting to know who their mothers or fathers were. imagine then, what sephiroth must have felt when he found out a truth better left in the dark he pulled it up from. before all of that, he was a full blown hero, not simply a popularity icon, the guy was a genuine good guy. he had his problems, but so did all other final fantasy heroes. in the end, even his course had some good in it.

If I had to choose, he's a good guy gone wrong. I mean, seeing the one you're supposed to protect die hundreds of times before you ought to drive someone a little crazy enough to kill the Goddess to stop it all from happening again.

If we're comparing, I think every FF villain should be compared to Kefka. Yeah he was a clown, but if you look into his backstory, and think about his final dialogue, it's really quite tragic. Plus he's the only villain to have succeeded in actually destroying most of the world; turning it into a mostly dead and foreign wasteland.

I was fucking pissed. I thought Snow was going to become the third character of the party, but nope. It really disappointed me how one-dimensional the gameplay aspects were. The only real difference was the fact you could equip monsters. That's about it.
