I never get when people say the WOL is the strongest thing cause the fight with Emet, you literally needed your entire crew to back you up, plus Ardbert, and Tia summoning additional champions to go up against him. Even in the final fight in ARR you needed Hydaleon to save you during the Ultima attack.

Elidibus when he becomes the warrior of light was probably the strongest thing we’ve fought at that point because he could constantly get stronger, was immortal, and was only beaten because of azem’s Crystal and Graha sealing elidibus. If it weren’t for graha, elidibus definitely would have won because he would just summon more warriors of light get stronger and continuously break his limits.

⁠@@BillNyeGuyStrongest thing IN EORZEA. The ascians are borderline god beings from a world where everyone was essentially immortal so they hardly count. But let’s not forget the WoL is a fraction of Azem and managed to put the fear of god into Emet when he realised it. The dude tried to convince himself it was his mind playing tricks on him. Fusing with Ardbert wasn’t a power up either, it just fixed the WoL’s damaged soul so they wouldnt be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of light they’d absorbed. Extra soul doesn’t make you stronger, it just makes your soul denser. The WoL also fought Lahabrea alone, sure the blessing helped defensively, but he still had the power and the means to slaughter an ascian.

It is still the best song and fight to this day for me. Even if they have come out with new epicd fights.

He realizes that he is not the divine all-powerful being that he thought he would be. Thus he becomes frantic and erratic, desperately trying to swat you away and stay alive.

harlequinsCrest *SPOILERBELOW?* After the credits of this battle, the white ascian mentions needing to call upon the "Warrior of Darkness" because he is afraid "The balance between light and darkness will shift, throwing our plans into disarray", who then walks up to him... on the fucking moon of Eorzea, lol. We don't get to see his face, but he looks like the Warrior from all of the FFXIV cutscenes; the Hyur who was in the Fall of Dalamud battle as well as the Heavensward cutscene. When the screen panned up to look at his face, though, he had the same look; the faceless, dark shadow that looks creepy as hell. Maybe it's some sort of reference to this 'Warrior of Darkness'? Alternatively it could just be that it's referring to how the players are the warriors of light.

counter argument! the "warrior" we see in the new heavensward trailer became a dragoon! this "warrior of darkness" happens to literally be a "warrior", but I wouldn't consider Derplander to be the WaroD

Warrior of Darkness. In FF3 they explained how the multiverse works. Normally it's a core of light surrounded by darkness. When it shifts to a core of darkness surrounded by Light the mother crystals of the worlds create Warriors of Light to return it to normal. However, when the core of light expands to consume the "ring" of darkness the crystals from the World of Darkness create Warriors of Darkness to put the core of light back to the level it needs to be. Considering we, the Warriors of Light, have gotten so powerful we slew an elder primal, Bahamut, and now a god, King Thordan. Then we reached the point where the core of light is getting to strong and so now some Warriors of Darkness will come into play to pretty much put us back in our places. This is further supported how in FF3 when we reach the World of Darkness we go to the four crystals in that world. After a boss fight at each crystal we meet up with a Warrior of Darkness and explain how they had to fight the Light from consuming their world in the same manor we're fighting to stop the Darkness from consuming our own.

+Sweet Spirit there's also a widely accepted theory in the FFXIV community that FFXIV takes place in the same world as FFIII. There's an immense amount of clues that validate the theory too.
