Man. When you’re fighting a boss and doing really well and the section at 1:43 kicks in. There’s nothing like it. I love the dynamic music so far from the demo.

I love that Soken has this down to a science, with the "stagger phase" portion of the song coming on about every 2 minutes, which makes it easier for the fight designers to make it fit into boss battles.

Notice how the music picks up when Clive has the enemy staggered.

1:40 really gives off that "strike now!" Feeling. Love Soken

This is sounding like one of the best mainline soundtracks in nearly two decades. So looking forward to this game.

It's truly amazing how the emotions of the music transition from one to another! 1:07 being self doubt, 1:16 being acceptance, and 1:42 being pure confidence.

Dammit I gotta geek here. That buildup at 1:34 is so good and then the payoff at 1:42 is such a battle theme, but also really subdued. Like it could be a dance or a waltz. And then I realized it is a waltz! It's in 3/4 time signature so it's mean to feel like a dance. Most other ff themes have been in traditional 4/4. But with the focus on parrying, dodging, timing your specials... It makes sense that this game's fights would feel less like a traditional battle and more like a choreographed dance. And that main buildup and melody/motif comes up in the beginning of the main battle theme because you hear it most often even if you beat a group of enemies quickly, BUT it comes back in full force in this theme much later because these fights take longer (typically mini bosses) and Soken knows you're going to reach that part of the song. So right when you're in the midst of the fight, you get rewarded with the theme you've heard over and over but a glorified banger version of it. Every time you hit a parry or dodge on the downbeat during that 1:44 part... It's pure magic.

They get better and better and better and better and better and better with the music. I do feel more absorbed into the battle.
